It's first time to see that little hoverfly is laying eggs!

@the-river-runs​ submitted: I'm currently on vacation, so a lot of these bugs are unfamiliar to me. The beetle was sitting on my mom's car window, so I very quickly hopped out to see how pretty he was. I think he's some sort of longhorn beetle? Unsure of what on Earth the other bug is. I was sitting by a creek when he landed on my shoulder. He was the perfect model for a photoshoot, and once I was done snapping pics, he flew away. And there's a bonus fly. These three were found in Wyoming.

This next little beetle joined me for dinner outside, and was a very cute, polite guest. His antenna were very adorable. I think the next bug is an ant, but she also has wings, so I could be wrong. She was lovely and very kindly stopped for some pictures. And last but certainly not least, another fly, I believe. He had excellent bee mimicry, I was fooled for a minute. I met another one later, and he landed on my hand and gave it a kiss. I'm very sorry about the shadow, I could barely get him in the sun, and that photo isn't very good. These bugs were found in Montana.

Yes, the first one is a longhorn beetle, specifically a white-spotted sawyer. The weird dude who sat for a photoshoot is a robberfly! Very handsome. Also a very cute lady fly. The beetle is adorable! So Round. I don’t recognize the species offhand, I’m afraid. The flying dude looks like an ant to me! Queens and males both have wings. :) The fly does have excellent bee mimicry! Probably a globetail, given what I can see of it. which is a type of hoverfly. Thanks for sharing such a large group of nice pals!
