Breaking the surface of the water, Dan Heng glanced back at Chiara, who had been swimming with him. He wasn't sure how long they'd been underwater, the air feeling thin and dry in his lungs, but it was with the setting of the sun that made him wonder if they shouldn't take a break. In a grotto far from the city, the quiescence was healing. Treading water, tail undulating in the cool lagoon, he came upon a submerged boulder wide enough for them both to sit upon. The fins along his forearms flexed in the moist air, azure scales glistening along his skin.
"Let's... take a break, Chiara. We were down there for a while."
