Wallis got that moral ambiguity. He’s a dick on purpose even if overall well meaning. He sorta was the antagonist in the first chapters.

Cakegirl is the meow-meowest, she is: pathetic, evil, literally lived in an alley like a street cat for a while, wants to have your sympathy so bad despite being evil… slaps the top of her hat like that car sales meme you can fit so many delusions and mental health problems into this character.

Cakegirl is much more meow meow, she even has a tragic and preventable end. She can’t even get better! Ultimate tragic meow meow!! She’s a villain that started out like a single note character and managed to squeeze more character development and catharsis than anyone else by shouting her frustrations, trying to get Rylie to relate, having a painful flashback and eventually accepting death and recognising she went wrong

Cakegirl did it all to herself. A poor wet meow-meow's patheticness value only increases when their misery is self-inflicted and all their own fault. We wouldn't have to be our poor wet meow-meow's defense lawyer if they were victims of circumstance and injustice.

Hello Everyone! Gloomadness 2025 be upon you!

Or at least, it's time to choose the theme! If you're not familiar, I've been running a march madness tournament about gloomverse every year on a different theme.

Last year, Clermont was voted best physical fighter, in 2023 the lemon kids were elected most likely to spread chaos in Inverse, and in 2022 Amadeus was voted best character!

Last year, Best Magic was the runner up, but let's still have a poll about it.

A little run down:

Harold VS Lemon Kid: Harold wins almost unanimously, but there's a lemon kid defender out there!

Petunia VS Cashier Girl: Perhaps one of the most unexpected victory, Cashier girl snatches the win thanks to her relatable retail employment, but it was a close call

Evets VS The Mermaid: Despite being very wet, the mermaid is not as poor or as meow meow as Evets, who wins with almost all the votes

Niak VS Seaweed: Niak lacks some crucial screentime and maybe doesn't even have Joey Mortifer's poor little meow meow backstory. Seaweed claims the victory despite notoriously running away from vulnerability

Nim VS Stratus: And it's a TOTAL VICTORY for Nim! That happy child had no chance against her

Nimbus VS Virga: Some votes of sympathy for Nimbus for being Stratoversian and having a Sister, but Virga's been tasked with maintaining the system and killing an innocent, so.

Sunshine VS Joe: Cheery Granny unfortunately lost to Grumpy old man, but not without getting some votes

Alto VS Xela: Xela's backstory gains them a TOTAL VICTORY over some happy grandpa king

Clermont VS Mr Biv: Surprisingly, Mr Biv still got a few votes, perhaps an award for being a terrible father, but Clermont still wins

Indigo VS Lemonstache: A total victory for Indigo. Yeah that one was a silly matchup.

Thermo VS Lemon Geek: Finally a win for lemon kids fan out there!!

Mrs Biv VS Cirrus: For having 0 spoken line, Mrs Biv also got 0 vote. Or maybe Cirrus is just really pathetic and wet, even without clouds on.

Malus VS Purple: A pretty clean victory for Purple! Just like Wallis, breaking down on screen helps a lot in this category
