Naja brainroooot

Tall MC carrying Naja around like a teddy bear🧸 They need their emotional support spouse! With an arm always wrapped around their waist. Puts Naja on their lap unconsciously, to the point they won't react if Naja themselves sit on their lap in public, just wrapping their arm around them in an almost pavlovian response.

Naja clinging to the Monarch's neck while carried, simply enjoying the ride. Naja would probably feel too self conscious to sit on the Monarch's lap in public unprompted, but if MC puts them on their lap naturally Naja enjoys it a lot, especially if the Monarch noticed Naja was getting anxious or spacing out.

Staying so close to the Monarch grounds them, it soothes them in a way nothing else can.

Cognac brown eyes slip shut as if she was trying to block out the desperation her husband, the love of her life, was showing her. "I don't know if there's anything left you can do, Oliver," she murmurs, all the fight leaving her. "I'm so tired of expecting more than you're capable of giving. I'm so tired of fighting by myself. I'm so tired of pretending that I've only lost my child and not my husband too."

She opens her eyes, fresh tears causing them to glimmer like stars.

"And I'm so tired of thinking that I'll ever be enough for you."

So with ex-lover!F, how did they ended up as the royal librarian? I mean, what's the timeline. Did the Queen know who was taking the position? If she did, wouldn't it be detrimental to MC, about to rule an entire nation, who was obviously really messed up with F's departure, to have to see their first heartache day in and out without even a warning? And then the assassin thing?

No criticism on my part (obviously the more angst the better, sorry MC). I'm genuinely curious how did it go.

Oooo Nick is here with the hard hitting questions!! Haha I love it. So, this is pretty much the same for ex lover or ex bff F, but here ya go!

It was actually the King who offered F the role. In the past, Percival knew that F was important to his child and wanted to support F and Felix on bettering their lives because of that.

When they left, he was pretty devastated and concerned. He had his people search for them for quite a while, trying to piece things together.

F and Felix arrived in Castelon a few weeks before Percival, James, and Constantine did. It wasn’t safe for F and Felix to travel from where they were until the war ended but once it was safe, they left quickly.

F was nervous about seeing MC. The siblings really didn’t know what had been going on since they were gone. They didn’t know MC wasn’t at the castle. Felix went to the castle on his own at first and the Queen saw him and they sat down in her office for a while to catch up…

As soon as Felix left, Vivian sent a letter to Percival because she knew he would want to know that they had returned.

Percival sent two letters back - one to Vivian, one to MC (the one you read in the current demo). The letter for Vivian insisted that she give F the librarian job. She didn’t want to but the current librarian had been wanting to retire for two years and she knew it was important to her husband. Percival had always hoped that MC and F would reconcile (as friends at least).

Was it misguided? Yes, Percival remembered how devastated his child was when F left. But he also remembered the happiness having F brought to them. He genuinely believed that in a couple weeks time, everyone would be at the castle and he could help MC and F work through things while being there for support.

F was hesitant to accept the position but with the generous salary, they knew they could support Felix, too and it would make everything easier as they settled in.

So, the timeline fell before the assassination.

Oh God now I'm stuck with the image of MC owning a fake front cafe that connects to a side building where Grey and Co. do all their activities.

Better yet, sweet MC offering sweets to someone who knocked on their door looking for Grey "for business" (who are actually looking to kill them) and the visitors drop dread cuz the sweets had poison.

MC calling Grey saying they have a "package" at home and when everyone arrive the crew is surprised and mildly concerned.

They would be so proud. Also slightly concerned about the muffin they just ate.. The thieves learning to keep their hands to themselves because MC doesn’t have anything labeled.

Yesss Merlin baking with ROs nom nom nom. And Merlin being smooth out of the blue like "it's sweet but not as sweet as you" to RO/s and keeps eating like nothing is wrong

Arthur groans, face flushing a brilliant red which he buries in his hands to try and hide from your prying eyes. “You’re so embarrassing, how did you say that with a straight face?”

Morgana’s lips tilt into a gentler version of her signature smirk, before she leans in close to whisper in your ear. “Why don’t we do a taste test to confirm that?”

Lance chuckles, sounding a little breathless as he reaches over to brush away some stray crumbs from your lower lip with his thumb. “What am I going to do with that mouth of yours, Merlin?”

Gwen chokes as her mouthful goes down the wrong pipe. “You-? Me-? Sweet??? Oh no, you’re the sweet one! I mean, not that I’ve tasted you… Wait! That’s obviously not what you meant. I- if you’ll excuse me a moment.”

Such an emotionally charged chapter! Especially for my MC-

Who went through a panic attack cuz "not this again" so he went from gentle and poised to a screaming match with Mother dearest, going through all five stages of grief in five minutes. I love that an unwilling MC is like "help-!" before being whisked away. It's sort of hilarious in a tragic way.

Gotta be honest tho, I truly thought choosing Cerberus or Styx would change the outcome a bit. Imagine being tasked to sneak away a deity from Hell only for them to yell and have this massive three-headed tank of a dog charge the door and glare at you with six glowing red eyes.

The chapter can really put the PC through it. I'm glad to see some of you taking full advantage of that.

As for outcomes, I'll take that into consideration. I will say that the consequences of all this aren't fully played out yet, and Styx in particular may still be thinking pretty hard about what happened....
