Turambar and Glorund (Glaurung) by John Howe
Turambar y Glorund - J.R.R. Tolkien - John Howe
Glaurung is one of my favorite characters in the Silmarillion.
Creating a chracter whose personality is just "douchebag" is already a fun choice, but making that same character a primeval dragon and the arbiter of the fate of your story's tragic, flawed protagonist is inspired.
He's not a complex or nuanced villain in the way that Turin, Maedhros, or even Morgoth are, and that's because he doesn't need to be. He's just a massive piece of shit that happens to also be a dragon, who is out to fuck over one dude in particular.
