I don't agree with you about the glory music video- I thought it was really nice and actually better than I expected. So I was just wondering how come you were disappointed? Like what did you expect from it? I'm just wondering out of curiousity, I'm definitely not saying your opinion is wrong in any way! Just open to hear different thoughts on the video

So for the Glory video, I definitely wasn’t a fan. It’s grown on me since I first saw it..I watched it one more time. I’ve loved every video Bastille has ever put out (except for Torn Apart ugh what were they thinking there lol).

I was expecting something a little strange, a little surreal, and something that encouraged interpretation. It didn’t have to be harsh or dark like Blame, it didn’t have to be floaty like Flaws. Bastille’s just always had a surrealist theme, def inspired by David Lynch occasionally..but always telling several stories in one video. I felt that Glory was missing that. While Glory isn’t a bad video itself, it felt like a departure from Bastille’s signature weirdness - a little too mainstream, a little too shallow.

And yes, there is depth but not as much as say, Bad Blood. There is some interpretation to be made, but not as much as Send Them Off. Blame is one of my favorites that they’ve done and I know that lots of people hated it, so maybe that gives you some more insight into what I appreciate and expect from a Bastille music video.

Now, the Glory video’s quite pretty, and I love how the scenery reflects earlier videos! And Dan and May are great. I respect Dan’s passion for this song and for the idea and concept of the video.

I thought that for such a special song, there would be a special sort of video. It definitely was special, just not the way I expected it to be. Huge props to Dan for being in the video, and props to May for being very cool. Props to Bastille for putting out something different than what they normally do, which is really what they seem to like doing! While I am definitely torn on how much I like the Glory video, I still love that Bastille just does whatever they want and I hope they stay that way.
