A near-empty Pokemon Centre was the thing of dreams. Stationed way out in the hills, the only people inside other than Nurse Joy were an old couple who looked like a strong breeze would knock them over.
James steeled himself, took a deep breath, and pushed through the front doors.
“This is a robbery!” he shouted, trying to sound tough. “Hand over all your Pokemon and no one gets hurt!”
He brandished a rifle; to the untrained eye, it looked lethal. To someone who knew their weaponry, a close look would reveal that it was nothing more than an air gun. Truth be told, it wasn’t even loaded, but that wasn’t the point. The point was intimidation, and James got that and then some.
The couple shrank into their seats, shaking like leaves; Nurse Joy paled, still as a statue behind the counter. It had been a while since he’d resorted to such aggressive methods, but he had something to prove to Jessie and Meowth. He wouldn’t let them think he was weak!
At his instruction she cleared the shelves and put all the pokeballs in a bag, which he took wordlessly. He paused, then added:
“And all the money in the till!”
He was too busy watching her pile the notes onto the counter to notice the front door open again behind him.

Cyan loves being a merman; the ocean, the community, and the small amounts of magic that he’d been taught. He’s living the best life possible! He was in his element, which is why it was so confusing as to why he vanished one day when he went to close to the surface.

For James to be running towards a member of authority was a rare thing, but there were a couple of exceptions, and Gloria was one of them. At least, he was about eighty percent certain that she wouldn’t attack him on sight.
He slowed to a stop before her, a plastic box cradled to his chest.
“Here!” he grinned, holding it out to her. It was full of various pastries, surplus from his team’s side business. “I never did properly thank you for helping me out. So, um, thank you!”
He wondered idly if the doughnut stereotype extended to rangers as well as cops.
“Ooh, are you on patrol?” he queried, as nosy as ever. He gave a light gasp. “Or are you tailing Galactic?!”
