For the March wallpaper, we're leaning into Liana's transformation from Ignore All Previous Instructions. She came in like a lamb, and out like a lion!

I SWEAR TO GOD if I see even ONE more character go through a "glow up" where she replaces her glasses for contacts and straightens her hair (bonus hatred if she bleaches her hair from brown to blonde) I am going to fucking LOSE IT
Old art redo. I always liked the idea of a floating figure and these colors so it was so nice to play with the concept and tweak it a little. I feel like the moth motif adds something special.
The first one is from 2005. Second one from this year, 2023. Damn, 18 years changed a LOT!
Will Poulter's VERY hunky transformation...
Are you looking for a sign whether you should start investing in @functionofbeauty? Look no further than my pictures right here! My curls, the thickness of my hair, the health have increased significantly in quality (AND quantity) since I started using FoB products.
Before picture is from Autumn 2020, and after picture is from Autumn 2021. This is what just ONE YEAR did for my hair. Can't recommend them enough. Thank you #functionofbeauty, you've changed my hair forever 🤗
FYI I'm sure no one is even thinking this, but just in case, no I'm not sponsored. I just love FoB SO MUCH 😭
(Day 22) - Share your glow up
I do not care that pride month is over - you can always talk about pride! Also, I have my mind set on finishing this 💪🏽.
Since I don't wish to make a face reveal and did a pre-/post quarantine tag not too long ago, I guess a written self-reflection must suffice.
My parents always were very understanding and let me be who I wanted to be, both in hobbies and looks. But there were still things that were out of reach for me. Tattoos, piercings, dressing punk, goth or just any kind of alt? Nah, that makes you anti-social. And I was an obedient child, so I believed that certain things I liked were just not destined for me - because my parents said so.
Two years ago, some time after coming of age, a sudden realization struck me: Nobody could forbid me what to do with my body or my money now. I didn't have to ask my parents for permission. So, realizing that yes, I could dye my hair whatever colour I wanted, get whatever piercing I liked and buy clothes from whatever subculture style I preferred? Pretty big glow-up for me. ✨.
My glow up is, I would say, still going on. I am still not completely sure of who I am and who I want to be, but I work every day on finding out and being true to myself. 🌈
Glow-up vs. Grow-up
One thing that constantly pisses me off about writing is how people keep confusing between a Glow-up and a Grow-up in characters.
So Imma explain wtf is a Grow-up and Glow-up
A Glow-up is a when a character evolves physically. Like they go from borderline average looking to drop-dead-bitch-they-beating-Greek-Gods level hotness, they become more refined, express better mannerisms or just look different. Glow-ups don’t necessarily affect a character’s personality.
A Grow-up is a much deeper concept. It’s when the character evolves mentally. A childish character that becomes mature after some experience, a foolish one comes to their senses, or a betrayed/bitter character becomes darker.
Grow-ups are also commonly known as Origins, while a Glow-up can happen through the entirety of the story. Grow-ups are a defining moment in their life, which makes them realize something and it consequently changes them.
A Grow-up and Glow-up are mutually exclusive, though both CAN happen at the same time. However, a character having a Glow-up might still remain the same as a person and a Growing-up character might not change outwardly noticeably enough.
The two are completely different, even though they are both changes in a character. And they shouldn’t be confused as the same thing. Because the depth of both are completely different.
A writer can choose to represent the evolution of a character through both or either one of these changes, though its not set in stone. Character evolution has infinite different paths, its the choice of the writer and their writing style.
