hey can you tell me about glow? or what your currently hyper fixating on? Why that specificly? what’s your favorite part of it?
I'll do the first one, since my current hyperfixation is just pressure atm.
Ok, so I've decided to do some changes to Glow's experimentation history, and how they would work in game because the original didn't make a whole lot of since.
Glow, instead of being made to just play god and replicate human life, was instead a test to see if they could make something that could mimic human life. So Glow's dna consists of glittle (the electric sea slug critters), mimic octopus (only sea creature, discluding its close relative, to mimic other aquatic creatures), random mold that was growing nearby (accidental, it just kinda happened and nobody did anything about it), and human (obvious reasons). At first, Glow was just a big blob of slime that required electricity. But, as time went on and people interacted with Glow, they slowly started warping their form to match that of the people who studied them (mainly 1 researcher I still need to name, so Imma call them The Doctor for the moment). Since the mimicry worked, Urbanshade tried to see if they could use it to their advantage. Tests included seeing if they could mimic people from images, replicate voices (they also had to teach Glow English for that one), and durability. Even though the whole point was to make something to mimic, Glow was terrible at it, so they gave up on that and tried to see where they could be useful. This ends up looping back to the whole mid-battle power source idea. When the actual breach happened, Glow mostly just fled and hid, only "disarming" people (usually breaking bones) if threatened. They did go out of their way to find The Doctor, but the recordings of that time went missing and still haven't been recovered.
Game mechanic wise, Glow gets a extra little gimmick. Since having Glow as an enemy and npc doesn't make sense, this is where that mold comes in. That little extra bit of dna gave Glow the ability to split off parts of themself, being able to control them from some-what long distances. This allows for the drop-on-you-and-steal-item-charge to work while still being able to find Glow as a rare encounter in High-Containment (they just vibin). But that's most of what I got for the silly little guy rn, thank you for asking :3.
Please love them.

Before I go to bed I wanna say some ideas.
Ok so my plan for Glow's whole mechanic is games (thank you for that glowsquid for the idea). So, when finding Glow (25% chance in heavy containment), you get 3 options to play, all of which for no cost. These games are Dice, Cups, and Maze. Each game will also have a random rating from 1-5 stars, which determines difficulty and how good the reward is. 1 gives 50-125 research or a battery, 2 gives 150-200 research, a code breaker, or 1-2 batteries, 3 gives 250-300 research, 2 code breakers, a medkit, low grade light options (flashlight, flash beacon, or lantern ), or 2-3 batteries, 4 gives 300 research, and a medium or lower light source (blacklight, glowlight or hand crank), 2 code breakers, 2 medkits, or 3-4 batteries, and 5 gives 300 research, 2 batteries, and a high grade light source or lower (necrobloxicon), 2 code breakers, 2 medkits, a bonus 2-3 batteries, wall dweller chunks, a slimekit (a medkit that heals teammate within a small radius the same amount as the user), or Glow's document.
Now each game:
-Dice: You get 3 tries to roll a dice and get it to match one of the numbers rolled by Glow. The higher the rating, lower the tries and lower amount of dice Glow rolls (at base 5), losing deals 25 damage to the player
-Cups: The standard cup and ball game, there is no risk for losing since it's mostly luck, but it can never be 5 stars.
-Maze: Guide the blob through a maze without getting caught by any of the enemies (cardboard node entities, works the same as the do normally), failure deals 50 damage, but can never be one star. (Highest chance for 5 star)
There is no limit to playing until you win, so you could play Cups for hours on end. Losing 5 times in a row would give a special badge (not named yet, very eepy).
Anyways gn yall.
TADAAAAA finally finished a Glow drawing. Current design, cause I wanted them to feel more creature-like. I might have more to say later, but it's like 11:30 and I'm tired.
Imma give some info on Glow cause I feel like it.
-Glow is an experiment trying to force a different creature to be similar to humans
-Glow was originally a Gliddle
-Gliddle are little sea slugs that are attracted to electricity (like open wires or random lights)
-Glow's hair is like that because they are trying to mimic a researcher who headed the experiments.
-There were 19 other experiments, all of them their died during the process or killed by Urbanshade because they were more aggressive.
-Glow was actually sent during missions as a back up power source if things were risky or expected to take a while. This is because Gliddles (and Glow) feed off of electricity as a secondary food source. Have Glow eat a few batteries and you got a mini-generator.
-Glow's classification is Z-256 Glowlight because they glow and I like the number 256
-Glow actually struggles to speak because they had not spoken in around 10 years, since nobody else spoke except P.ai.nter and Sebastion. (And they don't really like Glow)
-They have tried to eat P.ai.nter at least 5 times, failed every single time
-Glow scavanges for food and clothing, hence why they wear Expendable Jumpsuits (Glow is around 3'5" or about 1 meter tall, so lots of it is poorly cut and stitched together)
-Glow can fit inside very small areas (like cabinets) because of their lack of bones, they use this ability to hide from people
-If attached to too much electricity, like plugging in to an electric socket, all of Glow's senses and "brain" functions get rapidly increased. This causes them to become very overwhelmed (based) and aggressive, they can speak better when plugged in tho.
-Glow can still write quite well, and is their main way of communication
-When Glow was released, they actually managed to kill their researches with a fire axe. They took the bodies and gave it to the M.O.S. blob when it was distracted killing, having seen it in motion. (It ignored Glow cause it has no flesh)
-Also finally and most importantly, Glow is non-binary cause they don't understand gender lol.
Thinking more about Glow's time in containment and Glow probably knows things about coding or some very specific marine biology but has no clue what a cat is.
