I know I love a good angst Non!Mc fic, but this also pops up into my head when I read the "love triangle" fics.

non!mc: I love you so much, it hurts. I never could imagine having someone that completes me the way that you do.

I wanna read a hurtful angsty pain fueled nmc story.

I wanna write one too.

But, like, I wanna write some fluff and platonic NMC stuff. I want the guys to actually have a friend.

Had the idea in my head if Sylus had a female friend that sympathized with his situation but also tell him straight: "Dude, you gotta understand it from her point of view. If she doesn't remember, then kidnapping her, forcing her to shoot you and keeping her hostage is just gonna make her distrust you more. You forget she's a girl and I can promise you that she's afraid of the implications of your actions."

Then again I don't know.

I dunno. Maybe I'll write NMC x MC yuri one day. I think it'd be cute.

There's no warning, I'm just going straight into this.

For those unaware, Love and Deepspace, the OTOME game created by Infold has just announced, officially, that they are not going through with releasing Valko. Here is a link to their Twitter with the announcement. TWITTER LINK.

At first, I thought it was a rumor. I don't pay attention to those because in truth, I've learned to wait and see what happens. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that it's not a rumor, but an official announcement that they are pulling Valko and his content and trying to appease others by claiming that they will not be creating a new character for their series.

Not that it matters, but I'm a Destiny fan. I've played Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 for a good portion of my life. Bungie has gone out of their way to basically shut down all production of their game and let it die with a whimper instead of a bang. I may have had my grievances with the way they were running the company and their development team, but this is not what I wanted from them. I was very disappointed in their decisions.

I find myself, once again, in a position where I'm watching a company implode in on itself because people have become so utterly parasocial to a video game, they feel attacked when something new happens that isn't what they wanted.

There's a lot of issues with the company in general, but releasing a new character that was probably necessary considering he's Rafayel's foil wasn't an issue. I may not have wanted a new LI just yet, but I wasn't going to hate a new LI if he came out. I was simply worried how the company would handle him moving forward.

Now, we're seeing how they handle it. Poorly. Terribly. Awful. Just, a series of bad decisions being made here because some players are just so bitter over a pixelated character that doesn't exist. The amount of work that had to be put into his creation must have cost millions.

Voice acting. Animation. Writing. World building. Music composition. Battle mechanics. SFX. VFX. There is so much work that had to be done in order to create this character and bring him to life in this story. All of that is just GONE. I can't even wrap my head around the amount of money they spent on promotions alone.

From a company standpoint, this is such a colossal failure. It's an insane amount of money just lost because of nothing. That's probably two years minimum of work just GONE. I am not a CEO, obviously. I don't have the education necessary to view this from a business perspective either, but I know just enough to see how bad their decision is going to cost them.

Mind you, I'm speaking for what we are seeing right now. Not the work that must have been in pre-production that they were waiting to polish up and complete. We don't even have a MYTH out for him, but I'm sure they were working on it.

From a fan standpoint, this isn't even meme worthy. This is just pathetic. Valko hasn't even been released yet and we don't know anything about him, so I won't know if I may really hate him going forward or really love him. We don't know anything about this man or his ties to the story. That's what made it fascinating! We were gonna learn about this guy and hopefully get the chance to breathe a bit more life into this game.

But we don't get that chance. Global players are never going to get that chance. CN players that were looking forward to seeing him are never going to get that chance.

Taking out a core part of your story on a whim is absolutely asinine. It is like sawing your entire leg off WILLINGLY and expecting NOTHING to change. There is no way to recover in a way that will be seamless. There will be gaps in the main story and there will be many points in the game that will feel stagnant and stale.

All because the same players that complained are the same ones that made it so that we don't hear MC. The same players that made it so the 4-star cards or kindles will hardly ever show her face. They can't "properly" self-insert themselves into her shoes if they see her, so we don't. Am I being a bit unfair, probably. We don't know for certain it's the same players, but the results are still the same.

We get a worse game because Infold listened to the small amount of players SCREAMING at them and demanding they change the game for THEIR benefit. I'm baffled at how SELFISH players can be about a video game that they will make it worse just because they don't like certain aspects of it they do NOT have to engage with.

If you can't tell, I am extremely frustrated. I am disappointed. And, if I'm being honest, I am a little bit angry.

I'm not just angry for myself, but I'm angry for the people working on Valko who just lost all their progress. I'm angry for the players that were way more excited than I was about Valko and not able to potentially see him now. I am angry for the creators and fans that were so ready to create new content for the game and they can't now.

Out of spite, I might just focus on Valko content, but I do love the others a lot and though I may get frustrated with my own work a lot, I do enjoy it. I like writing. I like exploring the different guys and how they may handle certain situations I put them in.

I hope that this is just a messed up way to promote Valko. LIke, if they do release him and say "Haha, we weren't gonna NOT release him", I'll be mad but at least we have him so I'll get over it. But, I just don't know.

I did the one thing I promised myself I wouldn't do and that was potentially start something. I do think it's still important, but regardless, still not cool.

We don't know for sure what they meant. It could be a reference to something else but no matter what, it's still bad PR. Very bad PR. Extremely bad PR. I still suggest reading up the Reddit Link to understand the CN side of their anger, but also understanding that Valko isn't the issue. It's Infold and their... interesting PR team.

This is just very messy. I will own up to whoever might be reading the edited version. My sincerest apologies and I will remove my reaction but I will keep the link up. It's important to keep yourself informed.

I saw the trailer. Saw the damn trailer and he's my damn type and I haaaaaaaate it because I'M A BROKE BITCH!

I dunno if it's just me 'n my old age but... I was on Twitter, right? LaDs girlies are being adorable (when they're not tearing each other down) and saying that the most Yandere Rafayel was Santarch. Well, I have his card and I needed a reason to not be lazy. Perfect opportunity to read his card, right?

Now... I'm not sure WHAT I was expecting, but I didn't quite feel the yandere aspect.

Spoilers if you don't have the card under cut.

I don't know if it's just because the term Yandere has been watered down, but back in my day, a Yandere was someone that would kidnap you, manipulate you, gaslight you and just straight up stalk you while taking out your friends and family for being in the way. And if you didn't like them back, don't worry, you will eventually. You just needed the right incentive.

What I got was basically the watered down version of him. Okay, a political story about how the church/religious group wants to have control over an empire? I mean, it's not really breaking a glass ceiling here, but okay. The head of the religious group has a bone to pick with the empire and wants revenge? Again, the glass ceiling is intact.

The most interesting thing was his ability to control people. NOW we're getting somewhere. It's intriguing. It's morally ambiguous. It's dubious. There's so much to work with and I was kind of looking forward to what the story was going to do with it.

I got Romeo and Juliet: Love and Deepspace Edition. It was nice, sure, but the whole Yandere aspect didn't really scream out to me. He controls MC twice and puts her to sleep once. Okay? It's messed up by normal standards, sure, but is it really that twisted?

"But he kills people in her empire!" Honestly, that's tame by fictional standards. And second, he killed people that were useless to Empress MC. If they were so easily swayed by the prospect of power, then they weren't worth it to her and were probably going to be eliminated anyway.

The line where he tells her that she's not that special and she does something slightly against the norm felt... cheap. It felt more like the "I'm not like other girls" rather than showing a true test of her wit and skill.

I know it's supposed to tie in with the event and the mini games where she grows closer to them. She learns about them through the event and so it ties in with the card. However, I also didn't feel like it worked well with the story. There's too many missing pieces for this story to feel complete as a card.

And I just feel like there was such a missed opportunity with his ability to control us. From the looks of it, he can manipulate the body but not the mind. At least not US/MC. And that could be such a great concept.

Imagine it, right? Imagine that the Empress knows her body is being manipulated and she learns that it's the Santarch. She knows that whatever strange power he holds is something that can ruin her if she allows him to.

Show us his more unhinged Yandere side more. Have him manipulate us more. Have him force moments between us. And even better, have us actually play into it. If he wants to manipulate our body, then we can manipulate his emotions. Have us play into it, showing how cunning we are as we play his little game. Let this twisted sense of love and control be toxic as we fall deeper.

That way the kiss at the church feels more like a strategic move on our part. Make it so Rafayel isn't really as strong considering we interrupted him when he was recharging and so he can't fully make us do something. Maybe he forces us to dance, right? And so by the time we're at the church and we hear that NPC's confession, he tries one more time to bring us close until it dissipates. Make him hover, as if tempting us into something forbidden, before we close the gap so that it feels like there's "more to it" than gaining the upper hand.

Trick him into thinking that this turned into something deeper, more forbidden. That no matter how hard we "try" to shed our titles, it's something branded into us in a way that never goes away. That Rafayel and "MC" are never separate from who we're always meant to be.

And maybe it did. Maybe we feel less of his power over us and yet we still reach out to him. We still find ways to be close to him. Each stolen kiss feels hotter and more passionate with every passing. Until finally, we get to the butterfly nebula and our choice feels more like a stronger gut punch. Because even in deep space, we can't just be ourselves. We are always the Empress and the Santarch.

And that's when his anger fully surfaces. He doesn't hurt us, but the threat feels as real as ever. Maybe have him pin us to the wall, have him impossibly close, where our lips barely touch but never quite connect. Play into the religious aspect a lot more. Have him ask us questions that feel more like a riddle rather than a question that needs to be answered.

That way, when he reveals to us what he's done with the traitors, it feels more threatening. And instead of us drinking the wine just because, have him make us pour half the potion in it and then drink the wine. Show us how far he'd actually go so that when we get to the cinematic, it feels a bit more impactful. That in a weird way, we really did fall for our own manipulation and in a way, his as well. So that when gives himself for us, we know it's really mutual.

OR MAYBE I JUST HAVE REALLY POOR READING COMPREHENSION, IDK! MAYBE I MISSED SOMETHING.

Either way, I need them to be more unhinged.

Vent Post

I wanna write so damn bad, man. I have so many ideas in my head and I want to get them out. I want to just post a story, even if it's bad or filled to the brim with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes and just be happy it's out there.

I just can't. I want to. I feel the need to and yet I can't bring myself to do it and I hate it. The scenes play in my head like a movie that I can't stop seeing. The dialogue flows so naturally that I want to capture it in writing but the moment I bring my hands to the keyboard, it all just goes away.

I feel the inspiration when I play the game and I have so many little things pop up, but it just never clicks. I want to write so badly, but it's so frustrating when I can't bring myself to do it.
