Musing: BIOLOGY!!!

For some reason this came up at work, last time i checked (scientists might have debunked it by now?) On a bioligical, genetic level the "default" genetic gender of a human is female, during development in the womb the y chromosome may cause it to turn into a male ("may" since XXY females exist), so if you think about it, to a biological level, every man ever is trans.

Glu at Work: Bazinga

Coworker: Last night i was watching the big bang theory and i thought of you.

Me: [looking at her with a dramatic expression full of concern and anguish, then  lowering my head in shame and defeated]* That's about the worst thing you could possibly say to someone like me.

To her credit, she later explained that she thought of me because the episode involved Sheldon getting a cat he names "Dr. Oppenheimer", which reminded her of that time i told her i like to give pets names with titles (like "captain", "Lady", "Dr." and the like) because i think  it's pretty funny and we had previously had a good laugh while watching cat pictures and i decided to name one of these breed of cat "Prof. Cat" for looking like and old man with a mustache.

*this was, of course, for comedic effect.

Musing: The fault in our stars

I know a lot of you people are crying their eyeballs out about the movie, but everytime i see something about it in my dash i cant stop laughing

You see, before the movie even premiered, one of my coworkers was reading the book and i took it for a second to see what was it like (i had no idea what i was about) on the very first page of the book there was this warning about "Phalanxifor" which stated that it was fictional and only used in the book for dramatic purposes,  this was pretty funny for me because it felt like a tv ad disclaimer "Warning! Phalanxifor might not actually exist" and i told my coworker this in a mock acme guy voice and it became a running joke for us (she would refer to the book as "the Phalanxifor novel" from there on), so now every time i think of the movie i just imagine that trailer voice going "Disclaimer: Phalanxifor might not exist".

You may proceed to tell me how much i am a horrible person for not taking seriously that movie that made you cry.

P.S: There have been plenty of movies where the girl kisses the boy, is the quintessential "Strong independent girl kiss with the shy insecure boy" movie cliche.
