Thought I'd share my cheater method for long glue joints. These two Maple boards are 6' long and those three my jointer is more than capable, I find this technique so much more predictable and faster. I use a track saw to get a perfectly straight edge on my boards, then I clean up that cut with my #7 jointer plane (with the fence to maintain 90 deg). Then, I make a spring joint by taking some light passes with a #4 from the Center of one board. To help with alignment I'll probably throw some 4mm dominos along this joint just so it takes a few passes less going through the drum sander. Thanks for watching!
