10th Yule Lad - Gluggagægir Day 21 - Grýla Yule Family series
From Icelandic folklore. Son of the Giant Gryla.
Gluggagægir / Gluggagaegir is one of the Yule Lads. The 13 sons of Gryla who come down from the mountain with her and cause all kinds of mischief. While deliver gifts in the shoes of good children. And rotten potatoes in the shoes of bad.
His name translates to the 'window peering'. Bjúgnakrækir is the 10th to arrive, on Dec 21th, and the 10th to leave, on Jan 3rd. Gluggagægir peers in through windows to find things to steal that might be of use to himself and his brothers. Stealing anying of use that isn't nailed down. But he likes to have a target before he sneaks into a house to steal so it's best to keep you blinds curtains and shutters closed to him.
