Hard candies. I’m kind of in love and that means I’m kind of almost 67 years old, right? Nah. I finally got my mitts on some Candy Meister hard candies, and these, my friends, are not the stale nubbins your Nana keeps in her sleeve.

Brought to North America by a lovely German couple who wanted to share their fave childhood treat with us, the all-natural (and gluten free of course) hard candies are mega delicious.

On a ridiculously rainy day I swung by the Eastside Flea and picked up a bag of: mulled wine, ginger and a multi-coloured variety pack.

Mulled Wine Come on you guys. It’s like getting hammered but you’re not. A lovely way to spice up a boring afternoon at work, I might even toss a few into a hot toddy this Christmas season.

Ginger I have had like 17 colds this year. I am SO done with menthol cough drops. I am switching to these bad boys. Also – I popped one in my tea and it was the definition of delicious brilliance.

Variety Pack Small sweet gems of multi-coloured yum. Imagine if regular candy was blasted with a "better" laser gun. Eat then repeat.

Vancouver this time of year tends to be grey and dark and meh. The upside is that there are a zillion community markets and fairs to go and stay dry, get inspired and shop for all your favourite friends. The bigger upside is that The Candy Meister truck is going to be at many of these events, and I highly advise you swing by. (Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates as to where they'll be sweetening things up.)

These candies are the perfect stocking stuffer for your favourite celiac, yourself (TOTALLY ALLOWED) or even sweet Nana. She deserves better, non?
