Mario Characters as Batman Villains 39 - Glydon + Kite Man
Glydon is one of the characters you meet in Super Mario Odyssey. I cannot tell if Glydon is a species or character, but since there is pretty much one of them, I will treat this case as character. Maybe in the future this would be depicted as a species, but for now, I consider Glydon qualified for a drawing.
The suggestion for this pairing is from someone else when I wanted to do Kite Man, but wasn't sure of a Mario character to use. Glydon came up, and thus you are seeing the fruits of the idea.
It's hard to see it, but Glydon is smiling here, and the pose is meant to depict him saying Kite Man's catchphrase "Kite Man, hell yeah!". One notable inspiration for this costume comes from the Kite Man show, with the large back kite and the straps.
That's all for what I wanted to say, and have a nice day.
Thank you for reading.

Love is stored in the weird mario dragon/dinosaur thing
a sketchly commission drawing for @LizardTaro of creatures known as Glydon and Q-Taro, who may not have met previously
Here’s some funny animations that have been created with online friends yesterday. It’s quite disturbing but also funny as hell, lmao!!
For context: some of these animations are like movies where a scene is happening, others are animations in which people have a few seconds to memorize a certain drawing and then try to re-create said drawing with an increasingly faster-going timer. It’s all absolute bonkers!
Hey there! :D I just wanted to say that I really like your artworks - especially your Inteleon and Heliolisk drawings! I'd like to ask if you could draw Glydon from Mario Odyssey - he's really cute and doesn't get much attention... I'm sure he would look amazing in your style! ^^
Hi!!!! Thank you for your message!!!
I know you!!!! You looked my Pokémon art in Twitter🤗
Thank you so much!!!!
For you!!!!
Name: Glydon
Debut: Super Mario Odyssey
Do you love the concept of fluttering bipedal reptiles in the Mario world, but find Yoshi just too unrealistic? Then you’ll be pleased to meet Glydon! He’s immediately recognizable as a funny lizard, glides with membranes like a real airborne reptile, and wears a small pair of glasses. All perfect for those who prefer more realism in their games!
And like any lizard, Glydon is just a chill dude. No, he’s not an enemy! How could he be? Look at that face. He just wants to hang out!
But beneath that laid-back demeanor is the heart of a daredevil! Glydon jumps off of cliffs not to escape predators, but boy howdy, because it’s fun! And of course, we can play as him by Capturing him, and it is indeed fun! Maybe my second favorite Capture after Uproot! Here’s a pro tip: play Balloon World in the Sand Kingdom and go after all the balloons people hide in the oasis. They’re easy to find and you get to glide across the whole desert many times!
It isn’t a Weird Mario Animal post without a photo of the animal basis, is it? I don’t think so. Of course, Glydon is based on gliding lizards, of the genus Draco! Animals like this always get people saying stuff like “wow... dragons are real... bro...” but to be honest... I’ve had enough of that attitude! It’s like when peoples’ immediate reaction to weird animals is calling them “real-life Pokémon”. I guess there’s not really anything wrong with making these connections, but it sort of makes me sad. Real animals deserve the love and attention, and they deserve it more! Look at this hilarious lizard, gliding through the air with the same blank expression a lizard always has, and just TRY and tell me you think dragons are better. And if you do, then I’m breaking up with you. I’m sure you understand.
Anyway, Glydon is a very lovely lizard. I love him a lot.
