Quelques années plus tard, la General Motors crée la division GMC Truck. Depuis, GMC n’a cessé d’innover. Survol historique des véhicules GMC ! L’innovation C’est en 1912 que 2 compagnies acquises par General Motors sont combinées pour former la division alors nommée GMC truck. C’est durant le salon international de l’auto de New York, qui a lieu la même année, que les camions GMC sont présentés en grande première mondiale. L’innovation captive. 22 000 camions sont fabriqués et vendus cette même année 1912. Sur ce nombre, seulement quelques centaines sont d’authentiques camions GMC. Les autres véhicules sont produits par les autres division de General Mortors. Un camion GMC en 1912, fait sur mesure pour ce livreur de bières! Camions de guerre En 1916, GMC fournit des camions à l’armée américaine. Il s’agit de camions pesant près de 3/4 de tonne, une innovation remarquale pour l’époque! Durant la Première guerre, c’est près de 8 500 camions que le constructeur américain fournira à l’armée.
