Not Broken, Just Bent → Fabrevans
[Slamming his shoulder into the door, Sam felt his foot slip before he was crumbling to the floor, not minding how hard his forehead collided with the wood. He squeezed his eyes against the sting of tears, not ready to give up completely. He didn't know how long it had been, but he was going crazy the more he sat there. The moment Brittany told him she didn't see his brother, that he wasn't there, nothing else could compensate for the spark of animosity growing between Sam and the Hufflepuffs he thought were his friends. How could they? It was the question repeating itself in his mind. How could they let the younger Evans go unnoticed? This was a different case from Sam. Sam was older, stronger, he could take care of himself. He pretty much always did. But Stevie? He was just a kid. A kid with...
Sam blinked back the tears, carefully getting to his feet and pulling back. With a running start, he flung himself at the door, only to get the same jolt of pain in his side and he slumped back to the floor. He'd given up for a bit earlier, having gone around demanding someone open the door. It only added to the hysterics of the moment, though, and Sam was restrained and pulled away, forced to sit at the corner until he'd calmed down. Of course, he didn't. Instead he went right back to throwing every spell in the book he could think of at the doors before physically ramming into it. The professors were smart with their enchantments, however, and nothing could loosen them. Biting down harshly on his tongue, Sam was about to throw his body at the door when a voice inside him spoke.]
Be practical, Samuel. You know this castle better than most... There are other ways than the exit.
[He'd made a point. Sam did know these castles well, for he lived his life between the stone walls. Clenching his fist around his wand, he slid it back into his back pocket before he began stalking the perimeter, fingers sliding over the smooth walls of the hall in a desperate attempt to somehow find the loophole that would let him out, some sort of tell in the structure that a secret door lay hidden somewhere. He had to find something, anything.
His search grew thin and Sam found himself growing more insane by the second. His mind was consumed with one thing and one thing only, his dear little brother. What was Stevie to do out there alone? Had his brother been in the frame of mind to seek the closest secret entrance and to hide in the walls like Sam taught him to? Had he been safe and away from danger because he took the necessary precautions? These were questions he didn't want to answer, mostly because it lent again to the reality that Stevie was out there with a psycho. Pushing away from the walls, Sam shoved that thought to the back of his mind as he began to push his way through the crowd, shouting out for someone, anyone, to help him.]
Who's a prefect? Huh? Someone's gotta open that bloody door right now!
[He was growing frustrated and began elbowing people aside more frantically, more desperately, as he sorted through the crowd to find someone wielding that shiny badge. He'd force them to help him. He knew he could. Pushing along, his right shoulder bumped against someone and he swiftly turned to face them with wide green eyes, ready to shout or something, or demand they show him to the closest prefect, that was until he recognized their face.]
Quinn! [he gasped slightly, ignoring Santana standing close by before his arms found her waist and pulled her close for an embrace. It seemed innocent and loving enough, until Sam pulled away and looked her straight in the eyes to make a demand.] You're just what I was looking for, I need someone to open the door so I can get out.
