Nearly 100 years ago a presence came to Earth claiming to be the god of gods and merciful in his will, he gave the humans two choices. The leaders of the world gathered, each from their own failing nation, and debated the proposition. They could choose to end the fate of humanity and let the souls of men follow the god to a place of no suffering or they could choose to continue—cursed by the heavens—until they inevitably destroyed one another. Those on the council, being wealthy, felt none of the effects of the dying world. They loved their possessions and societal standing and voted with greed and lust in their hearts to curse their fellow man for all time. The god sank his head in pity telling them to no longer pray to him for as long as man was filled with greed and hate, their prayers would carry no weight. He said that one day, when the many rise against the few, he would offer this choice to the leaders among them and hope they choose wisely. The god left our world as screams rang out from all corners of the Earth—from all those who were birthed in fire to the star mark, leaving their hands scarred with the images of the heavens.
