We started the day early leaving our parking lot outside of town and once again driving through Carnarvon. We had breakfast at a cute little place with birds in the trees directly above us. So loud it was slightly on the corner between nice and annoying.
We started to drive to Gnaraloo, which Matt, a musician I met in Perth (listen to his music it’s yummy: Matt Cal), had recommended to us. On the way we stopped to see the blow holes which I loved. Debbie was a bit afraid and stayed in the background while I tried to get good shots and videos that you cannot see now as they went lost after I lost my phone (all in vain).
Gnaraloo itself was quiet a drive as it is on an half island only reachable via dirt road. Poor Heidi had a hard time. At the end of it the dirt road became very sandy and I was super afraid we might get stuck so I just drove as fast as I could and never ever took my hands from the steering wheel. We made it sound and save only to find that Gnaraloo itself doesn’t have camping sites.
So we went back to 3 mile camp just before. The camping was expensive but also amazing. It was full of families and long-term stays and had a very familiar mood. We got a little spot that was secured from wind and used it to build our tent. We went for a little walk into separate directions just to have some me time. I did really enjoy the beach and sand dunes before watching the sunset and finally going to sleep early. Me in the tent and Debbie in the car.
