hi! i'm looking for an ao3 fic (8th year?) where D has an eating disorder and can only eat whenever H helps him i believe. D's eating disorder is caused by a curse and the way to break it involves H. H helps D by making food...? They both sneak out to the kitchens at night and make food for D to eat. I don't know if I'm mixing this up with another fic but possibly, the house elves and people at Hogwarts hate D which is why he never eats.

My library calendar was misplaced and I lost track of November. I definitely thought there was another Friday left, but it turns out today is December 2, not November 32. Nevertheless, I'm thrilled to host our November library guest, even if it's no longer November.

@gnarf has one of my favorite blogs. I love their fluffy fics, and I find a lot of the art for Art Mondays through their reblogs. I especially love when their quick drabbles come across my dash. It was a no brainer to invite them on, and their rec sure did not disappoint! I loved reading it, and I know you will too!

Having The Drarry Librarian come into my DMs and ask me if I want to do a rec for their Friends of the Library Friday Recs had me speechless in all the good ways.

I'm a big fan of their blog and I was super excited for the opportunity! Fandom wouldn't be the same without the backbone that is rec blogs.

Once I said yes, I instantly started to question every life choice that brought me to this point. What should I rec? I barely have any time to read anymore, life is busy, hectic, stressful. There's always so much work, so many things that need to be taken care of...

And then I remembered all the amazing fics I read this year. By far, not as many as I wish I had read, but all of them were amazing. Some of them have been recced in Happy Hour already, be it the writer or the fic itself, so in the end my decision was easier than I thought it'd be, even though they all deserve a million recs and more.

Please be aware that the fic I'll introduce you to deals with heavy themes: child abuse that lines up to canon and reliving it over and over again. Please don't read this fic if those things aren't to your liking. The fic has a happy ending and is dealing with the topic of healing from past abuse.

A lot of babbling, let's come to the point.

Eye of the Storm by @stargazing-enby (26,979 words, Not Rated)

Harry is struck by a vicious curse that makes him relive his most painful memories. Not trusting the starry-eyed fools who jump at the opportunity to poke inside his mind, Harry's friends go to Mind Healer Draco Malfoy for help.

Doom wrote this amazing fic for @hd-wireless '22. Harry got hit by a curse and is ow suffering through his worst memories day after day. Not even Ron and Hermione can help him, and every mind-healer there is is greedily rubbing their hands about getting into Harry Potter's brain.

In comes Draco who knows how shit everything was during the war, and who can be trusted to start the treatment for Harry and not his own curiosity.

What nobody knows is that Harry doesn't suffer from his memories of the war. His fear sits much deeper, in a much more vulnerable place.

If you, like me, love fics with a lot of hurt/comfort, this fic is what you're looking for.

Doom wrote the entire topic of "healing one's inner child" in a mind-blowingly beautiful way. I can't wrap my head around how much I love this. They show what is going on inside Harry's head, and to what great lengths Draco goes to help him through this, to heal, and to know that, now, he is safe and loved.

And the best of all is that we get a happy/hopeful ending, so all the suffering is totally worth it.

In general, I can only recommend Doom's fics. Some of my all-time favourites were written by them because they have this whole thing of making me emotionally nailed down.

If you want a little treat for the weekend, just settle down with a good cup of tea (and some mental health snacks) and check the rest of their works!

Harry Potter’s Biggest Fan: 9.7k

Ever since Scorpius heard about Harry Potter for the first time from one of his friends, one could say that he was his biggest fan.

So naturally, it would be the thing he needs to talk about while visiting his grandparents for Sunday dinner.

Draco's father could not hold back the comments on why he had to go through this again, and Scorpius understood just enough to know that his father actually knew Harry Potter in person. That's when the pestering started.

Not much later and Draco found himself face to face with Potter, all thanks to his son.

Feeling suddenly brave, Harry put down his tea and marched back to the bathroom. Slamming the door open he made Draco jump and splash water everywhere, but he didn't stop in his tracks. This was something that had to be done.

"Wha—?"

Leaning down, Harry leveled Draco's chin upwards and planted a kiss directly onto his mouth. He enjoyed the feeling of Draco's lips softening under his as he slowly got over the shock of Harry bursting into the room. Draco tasted sweet, like far too sugary tea, and Harry was tempted to climb into the bathtub fully clothed, just to have Draco closer and feel him as he finally dropped what was left of his walls, carefully put in place to not get hurt by yet another unnecessary death.

They broke the kiss, both breathing heavily, their heads pressed together.

Draco was the first one to find his voice again. "Well, now I surely won't let you leave without me."

"Just—don't die, okay? For once I'd like you to remain in one piece and not get hurt in any other way. I can't take losing anyone else."

"You'll protect me," Draco gave Harry a quick peck on his nose. "You always do."

Humming, Harry captured Draco's lips in another kiss. He let his hand glide from Draco's chin towards his chest, and down his side, drinking in every little puff of quickening breath that left Draco's lips.

"I'll protect you," Harry whispered against Draco's lips. "Always."

"If you don't go back to your room now, we won't leave this bathroom again tonight," Draco whispered. "Which means I'd have to throw out the potion I'm brewing because I've let it simmer too long."

"We can't have that happen now, can we?" Harry chuckled.
