Went to my first and the first official Genderneutral BU meeting today.
I feel it went really great and I look forward to the other meetings I'll be able to go to. Though curse you sometimes D&P for making my life so busy.
Anyway I was really nervous at first but we did intros and pronouns. My first experience with that by the by. Others also used they/them or gave the option for peeps to use they/them, all of which is happy making. Though I think I'm one of the oldest there but not the only "Floridian".
Everything is super safe feeling and comforting, I mean I actually raised my hand to talk multiple times which I never do cause I'm too busy worrying or overthinking. We talked about things we could do at BU and how we could inform people and I was all for all of that. Cause my life might've been a bit happier if I realized and knew of things earlier. But I'm more pumped about the things we might try to make happen and how persons actually waggled fingers upwards in feels over things I mentioned.
Things Talked About Happening aka The Ones I Really Want To Happen
Gender Expression Fashion Show (My idea which I thought might be silly and was nervous about but everyone seems all for, so woo)
Drag Poetry Show (Done last year but apparently was more like an open mic night.)
Queer Prom (I'd get to go to a prom and not feel frustrated!)
GN Bathrooms in ALL THE PLACES
Also one of the D&P freshmen was there! We bonded over geekiness and they want to do Costume Production and they're ace and I want to adopt them as my freshie! I can't believe I'm interacting with people.
Imma go to the official Q meeting and Anime Club meeting tomorrow, one I'll have Gabi & Erin with me the other I will not so hopefully all goes well.
