little drabble for myself because it was my birthday yesterday and i’m thinking about him
it's close to midnight. your birthday is almost over, and it wasn't any different from yesterday. other than everyone telling you "happy birthday" at least. your family went out for dinner, tradition for all birthdays. you, your dad, your stepmom brenda, your stepsiblings bobby, julia, and erik. erik. he's been on your mind since you got home—all day, really. he barely batted an eye towards you. all you got was a "happy birthday" early that morning. dad and brenda gave you a homemade care and paid for dinner—that was present enough from them. julia and bobby went in together on a new game you've been eyeing, but refused to buy for yourself.
you were grateful, of course. but none of them mattered as much as erik. he didn't get you anything, and hadn't even really spoken to you today. you're trying not to let it get to you—laying in bed, aimlessly scrolling on your phone until you finally put it down to try and sleep and just forget about it despite the tears stinging the backs of your eyes. you shouldn't expect anything. he always gets you gifts. today isn't special—you're just a year older. why does it matter?
but right as you're finally almost drifting off to sleep, there's a noticable shift behind you, mattress dipping underneath a new weight. and before you know it, someone is pressing against you, whispering low in your ear. "you didn't think i'd forget my baby's present, did you?" you only whimper softly in response to that low voice, which of course erik hears, feels the way your body moves with the sound.
"shh, sweetheart. i'm here now. big bro's here," he coos softly before his lips press to your neck in a gentle kiss that makes your eyes flutter before they shut. you sigh out softly, neck craning to allow him more room as your body instinctively presses back against him. his hand moves to rest on your hip underneath the blanket, holding you close as he pushes his own hips forward with a soft sigh of his own.
you tilt your head back for a kiss which he gladly gives you. it's gentle, his apology poured into the touch before he carefully moves without breaking it. he guides you onto your back, easily climbing over you, thighs settling between yours. the kiss is finally broken and you try to chase his lips before they trail down your jawline, to your neck, murmuring softly against your skin. "gonna take real good care of you tonight, baby. s'still your special day after all, hm?"
