Children of the Living Father
In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus says to his disciples: "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) imperial rule is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you.
"Rather, the (Father's) imperial rule is inside you and outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."
It never ceases to amaze me.
Everywhere I look, in every tradition and book, in the words of Pythagoras, Socrates, Ramana Maharshi, Rumi, Krishnamurti, and all the best-known seekers, I find the same message: Know thyself, then you will know the universe and God.
As it turns out, Jesus felt the same way--at least, according to this entry in the Gospel of Thomas.
Look within yourself. This is the most direct route to the divine, living Father, Tao, Logos, or whatever you choose to call it.
Look within: that is where you enter into the Kingdom of God ("Father's Imperial Rule) and discover that you've been seated on the Throne all along!
