Hello, Avery! So, I have a weird question for you, from one artist to another... You see, I've lately been inspired by several Underfell works, including yours, to make my own outline for a series of Underfell of my own of course, with several differences to make it unique! Honestly, I think did p alright. However, I'm at a conflict. I could change it more, change the characters, setting, and maybe make it something original.. Or do I stick to Underfell and be safe? I kinda wanted your opinion.
I'm not sure how helpful my answer would be tbh ^^; because I think that whatever you end up doing, it ends up being for you!
Fretting about what other people might think or worrying about whether or not your story is unique, or different enough, is just going to end up with you resenting your work, and nobody wants to end up in that position!
You gotta look inside yourself and think about what ideas really drive you the most. These are the ideas you keep gravitating towards and ones that you enjoy to read and see drawn. Then you take that and make your own unique thing and I guarantee you'll enjoy the outcome.
Just for example do you like a cruel Papyrus? You can put that in there. Is it necessarily original? No, but it doesn't have to be. You can even make another story with an Undertale Frisk ending up in the Underfell Universe.
Just do what you enjoy, put forth the story that you wish to see in the world. Because the process of creation, of art, is such a special and human thing that nobody can take away. Especially not any AI programs haha. I for one would like to see what you come up with!
