Tell me all about those little goats please i love them!!
ah i have a few ideas of like stuff for them
the characters would take place living in ‘goatland’ (this may be a temp name as Goatland was the temp title until i can think of something better lol) and it ofc is full of goats. they very much like old classic 90s cartoons with their designs based on their interest and personality.
Surefoot acts as leader of his lil little group which starts with Beau and Yellowbelly
Licorice is from the Woolen Kingdom, a sheep city. Sheep are of the few creatures who can perform magic and this is basically only taught to royalty. Licorice can use magic through their bell by ‘granting wishes made out of love and happy thoughts’
Licorice gets targeted by evil that wishes to take their bell for their own uses, and in the process of nearly getting kidnapped they accidentally wish them self away and end up in goatland and befriend Surefoot and friends
Beau is a huge flirt, loves big fancy parties, crowns and all that come with the idea of royalty. He is CRAZY obsessed with asking licorice questions when they first appear because Beau fantasizes about being a price of the Woolen kingdom since he was a little kid.
Yellowbelly is a clumsy coward, often tripping over his own hooves and embarrassing himself by knocking over Surefoot. He also get’s easily flustered around Beau’s flirty nature and surely has a lil crush
Prodigy is a funny lil cat warlock who lives in the now abandoned Purrdeaux, an old kingdom of cat’s, another race who studied magic. now all gone with only the Warlock who works away in his tower scheme of ways to steal Licorice’s magic bell. Goat fearfully tell scary stories about how he’s took out the kingdom and his own teacher to achieve great power.
he also has two gay little rats as henchmen, their planning their wedding and running stealy errands for the cat.
I like to picture a first episode of Licorice on the run from monsters and meeting Surefoot, them being amazed at meeting a prince of Woolen. becoming friends, and Prodigy learning the sheep is without protection in Goatland, telling his rats ‘get the one with the curled horns and bells and bring them to me!’
but the rats accidentally take Beau back to the tower and the team mounts a recuse for their friend all whole prodigy doesn’t know Beau isn’t the Prince of Woolen and this bell isn’t magic (also beau spends the episode helping the rats plan their wedding)
Can we learn more about the antagonists of the goat show? (The cat and rats)
the cat is named prodigy!
He was once a court fool as a young teen before the court wizard saw something in him and took him in as an apprentice. In goatland story goes that Prodigy was a gifted child, lucky to have been found by the wizard, but when he started to dabble in dark evil magic and his wizard teacher tried to get him to stop Prodigy froze all of the Purrdeux kingdom in magic crystals. Now Prodigy seeks to steal the bell from Licorice to gain more power.
His rat henchmen, or his ‘Cat burgles’ he has recruited to help him not only steal the crown but scout out and take other things he needs for his work.
his rats are your classic like, dummy henchmen but they also very much love each other. (they communicate in squeaks that the viewers wouldn’t understand but everyone in the show does)
their engaged and planning their wedding through the course of the show. I can imagine a scene in the first episode with Beau as their prisoner helping them pick of stuff for their wedding and basically being way more focused on making the cutest and more romantic little rat wedding than even thinking about how he is a prisoner.

For Goatland, Are sheep and goats on good terms with each other, or is there like a rivalry based on that old saying "separate the sheep from the goats"? Also is there any reason all the characters are plush toys?
ah! yeah, no the sheep and goat’s basically get along
thought goats and sheep are mostly separated, in classic 90s cartoon fashion of a diff species living somewhere else
Goats live in their lil valley land playing in the sun which sheep ARE mostly seen as higher class and powerful magical beings. but beyond that there isn’t any ill will between them. just some sketchy classism, there are also some goats and sheep who live in goatland or Woolen kingdom. thought mostly its goat who move to the city rather than sheep to the valley.
Goldie is a pure goat, but her sister popcorn is a half sister as their other parent is a sheep!
and sdgjkh their plush toys simply because i think its very cute! i thought them lookin a bit like plush dolls seemed more fun than just animals. i always loved original strawberry shortcake designs for being dolls!
there were a few other style i considered when makin them!
also some of the original drawings i made of them!
been designing a fake lineup of characters for a fake cartoon that would be like classic care bears or mlp or strawberry shortcake but with goats who are friends and theres an evil wizard in an evil lil tower with his gay lil rat henchmen along with a lil title card and ‘screenshots’ of a first episode of it
just havin fun the idea lol
Foggy walk to Goatland. The homegrown parsley I brought them must've fueled 'em up. #goatland #mylagunabeach #firesafety #cityoflagunabeach #allfueledup #boomerang #goatgames #goatsofinstagram (at Moulton Meadows Park)
