when of if I started shipping it.

I didn’t really start shipping them until I was older and revisited the comics. I remember knowing that they were together at a certain when I was younger but it wasn’t until recently when I’ve been able to think them over more that I started appreciating them as a ship.

my thoughts:

Okay so it’s complicated. I think they are a beautiful mid-game ship when done correctly. Harry and MJ have an ability to be what the other needs, for each other they step up time and again. At their core, they are genuinely good friends for each other to have - because they understand each other on an emotional level that no one else can touch. Also with Harry’s instability, MJ is someone who can get through to him and be a good sounding point/anchor. As much good they bring out in each other, it’s their issues that make it impossible for them to be something which is sustainable. MJ has a stubbornly independent streak, Harry’s substance abuse problems - they can be equally as bad for each other given the right circumstances.

What makes me happy about them:

How sweet they are with each other, it kills me. Harry wouldn’t hurt MJ on purpose and she is always going to love him and want the best for him. It’s that genuine and pure love for each other that can’t be changed that gets me all types of emotional.

What makes me sad about them:

As characters their insecurities hurt me. Together it’s probably the fact that they wouldn’t work in the long run.

things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Harry’s characterization in fanfics annoys me a lot in general. HE ISN’T A BAD GUY, HE JUST NEEDS SOME HELP.

things I look for in fanfic:

Characterization that doesn’t make me groan (see above).

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

MJ with Peter. Harry with Liz.

My happily ever after for them:

If they were to end up together? It would involve a lot of therapy, okay? So much. But one where Harry gets away from his dad, lives with MJ in a shoebox apartment and she teaches him how to thrive on his own and that he’s good enough and wonderful and ugh.

who is the big spoon/little spoon:

MJ likes to nuzzle in to his nooks and crannies until he relaxes into a cuddle session.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity:

Going on long drives.

Character in general: ahhhh honestly ive not really interacted with you before and idk whether its the amount of ppl i follow but i rarely see you running around my dash?
