My daughter and her friends are playing siblings, so the campaign starts when their house burns down and their dad vanishes.

Aww, that’s cute! I really like that :D And that is definitely a good way to ensure that the characters are working together!

I'm sure I know a couple people with detached retinas if you have spisific questions. I am also good with general blindness questions (I'm not blind but my daughter is and I work at a nonprofit for the blind)

The person in question would have to have emergency surgery, lots of eyedrops are involved post op, and the person would have to wear these ridiculous looking super sun-blocking sunglasses

Thank you both!  What I’m wondering specifically is what sort of lasting damage to eyesight could result from that sort of injury.  Google’s not being terribly helpful in that regard.  I’m assuming there’s probably some risk of partial blindness, maybe a permanent blind spot in the peripheral vision, that kinda thing?
