About phone calls and codes
I have seen people asking about international calls after the Far and Away podcast. I have done some research about that and here is the thing:
Yes, it's possible to call but I don't know how the people from GoCastNetwork manage the phone calls (I mean, I don't know if they are able to receive international calls).
If you are calling from another country, please, ask your parents or who paid the bills first because you won't be really happy with the cost of the call (and neither that person).
There are prepaid phone cards (or something like that) that have an certain amount of minutes that you can use. They always come with a code (or something like that) and with the instructions to use it. There are different types and with different amount of time, so check that if you find them. [Thanks to my grandmother for this information]
As usual, every country have a bunch of codes and stuff like that, but it's easiest that it seems. The number to talk with them during the podcast is: (818) 850-7746 Note: 818 is the area code of that specific place in California. There are a lot and in case you want to know more about this, here you'll find information. - About codes and international calls: First of all, you need to use the international prefix to dial outside of your country (code: 00), I think that this is worldwide. So, then you have to add the international code to dial to the country that you want to call. In this case, USA (code: 1). And now you just have to add the area code to that part of California, which is that 818 that appeared before. And finally you have to dial the phone number that you want to call: 850-7746. Result: 00 1 818 850-7746 - Help is around the corner: And there is this kind of 'generator' that can help you with the codes and thing: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/dialing.html?p2=137 (You have to select your country and blah blah and explains you every part) Note: In some places appears the code 213 as the area code for LA but you have to use 818...
