A new bolt hole?
We see Mary meet Sherlock in what looks to be an abandoned church? Where is this? In HLV we learn about Sherlock’s bolt holes but I don’t think any of these fit that description?
LESTRADE: He’s got three known bolt holes ... LESTRADE: Parliament Hill, Camden Lock and Dagmar Court.
MYCROFT: Five known bolt holes. MYCROFT: There’s the blind greenhouse in Kew Gardens and the leaning tomb in Hampstead Cemetery.
ANDERSON: Leinster Gardens. That’s his number one bolt hole. It’s top-top secret.
MRS HUDSON: Behind the clock face of Big Ben.
MOLLY: Just the spare bedroom. ... (Awkwardly) Well ... my bedroom. We agreed he needs the space. [x]
The scenes outside were shot at Margam Abbey/Margam Park? [x] [x]
Sherlock has equipment there so he must have used it for some time and has kept it secret from everyone else? Or has he set up this particular bolt hole specifically for Mary? Side note: He lead her to Leinster Gardens before and fucked her over there so no wonder she came prepared, can’t let that happen again.
Is this maybe a desanctified church, like Sherlock mentioned in TAB? And is that church actually based on Sherlock’s actual bolt hole?
Meaning of desanctify:
To remove the sanctified status of [x]
to remove the sacred qualities or status of <desanctified the church building and converted it into condos> [x]
Can I infer that this is “unholy ground” now?
And on that note, what was the text to Mary like, “Meet me in the pit?” /shitpost
Also interesting, he meets the devil on what appears to be ground or even underground level, and later he goes to see God at the top of what looks like a church attic.
Devil = Mary (she’s been compared to the devil twice in TAB)
God = Ella, El is a generic word meaning God
