III | 19 October 2019 Today’s AUWS photo memory features Courtney Maher, a senior defender, with her team’s starting lineup for their homecoming match against Franklin College, on 19 October 2019. For Courtney, being part of AUWS meant more than playing with a jersey on; it was being in uniform with a team whose family bond built you a home away from home. It meant being hand-in-hand with a group of ladies who were always there for you and made memories you’d never forget. But in times like this, amid our social isolation, Courtney reminds us that, it’s the precious memories we made together that keep us together, even when we’re apart. Especially the silly memories—like singing and dancing before a game or on long bus rides—that keep us together in spirit. Or even the memories made supporting each other, like showing 35 for Betsy during the lineup, remind us how much we mean to each other. I hope that my photo memories help you remember just that. Comment below and let us know! Do you have any memories these photos remind you of? For all four images, I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, fitted with a Canon EF 70–200mm f/2.8 IS USM lens. Each image has a slight difference in exposure. Photo 1. ISO 50; 148 mm; f / 2.8; 1/800 sec. Photo 2. ISO 50; 125 mm; f / 2.8; 1/500 sec. Photo 3. ISO 50; 145 mm; f / 2.8; 1/500 sec. Photo 4.
