here's some quality Cortez family angst; Before she died, Chevalier was really really close with his mom. As much as he loves Papillon he sometimes finds it hard to look her in the eye because of how much she looks EXACTLY like their mother. In return, Papillon feels guilty about it, like the death of their mother was somehow her fault (despite Chevalier often telling her otherwise, "she was already very ill, ma sœur. it had nothing to do with you, & I certainly don't blame you for anything")
