The Moraie Trials: A Lil Peek!
Hey! As of rn I'm currently working on a book called The Moirae Trials! It's loosely based on the horoscope signs and has a lot of references to greek mythology. It's about 12 kiddos (kiddos used loosely) figuring out their lives to fulfill a prophecy to save their world. At least I think that's what it's about? I've been working on this book for about 5 years, and it's been redrafted, like, 20 times. At this point I'm unsure as to the main conflict, because of all of the redrafts, but I planned each character's individual struggle. So I guess I'm looking for a way to tie it all together to solve a greater issue. It's! A struggle!
Of course, there are twelve main characters-- one for each sign. The plan is to have 4 books--one for each element--with the focus of each book being the respective signs of that element. As of right now, I have named 9 of the characters and developed....3. I've finished.... None of them..... And have written.....no chapters.....^^'!
There was more progress made for previous drafts, story-wise, but the characters were being made along the way. I think that if I carried on that way, the characters would've been too dull. And that's a big fear I have about my books, which is why character development has been slow. I've recently been working more on it, tho! And have a general idea about each characters! I just want them to be as fleshed out as possible before I put them in situations.
The 3 children that have been worked on the most are Nemeah, the Leo "royalty", Maia, the Taurus wiccan doctor, and Atalanta, the Sagittarius nomad freelancer.
The other named kids are Kratos, the Aries hunter, Vulupinia, the Gemini garb-maker, Ruella, the Virgo soon-to-be-magistrate, Ambedo the Scorpio witch, Orias the Capricorn scholar, and Natana, the Aquarius artist.
The Cancer kid, named Eros, is a farmer. The Libra kid, named Lalita, is a merc/assassin, and the Pisces kid, named [Fish Bae], is an astronomer.
The land is named Spiti; it's got 8 landmasses rn, none of which are named.
And that's about it rn!
I'm open for questions and plan on giving updates on more information once I get there!
