Day 7 of @lyfeillustration 's Goddesses Inktober: Blodeuwedd - Welsh mythical figure whose name means "flower faced". She is made from flowers and oak.

Day 17 - Ma’at

The personification of moral duty and a sense of justice, the goddess Maat is a source of harmony in the family and society, a sense of integrity with the outside world, mental stability and health. It personifies both the highest authority and wisdom given to righteous rulers and judges, as well as the internal moral laws of human in themselves. Chaos is a source of inequality and lawlessness, the destructive power of openness and permissiveness, which come from the unconscious, destructive nature of man, therefore the original harmony embodies the creative forces of the universe, a reasonable and stable flow of time and order. Maat and her husband Thoth - the basis for understanding the law and equality in the eyes of the gods among the Egyptians, complementing each other's female and male divine principles, embodying the unity and mutual understanding of all parts of nature and the world, the harmonious cycle of death and birth, the sources of law and truth, open to humanity. Law and service to it is perceived as something natural, proceeding from the depths of consciousness, and is expressed not in worship of the crushing power of government and power over us, but in the voluntary and conscious acceptance of the concept of equality of dignity and commitment to one’s family, society, people and environment.

The goddess’s dark, like ebonite, cascading thick hair falls onto her shoulders, they are hidden by a light veil of stones and jewelry, a feather sparkles above the brow with light fluff, a sign of wisdom and an aggravating-ephemeral sense of obligation and duty. Dark eyebrows are refined, sharply accentuated, coal-colored eyes are blind and all-knowing, from the inside illuminated by a white ephemeral hot fire, looking softly and confidently. Her bird features are slender and sharp, not devoid of the sophisticated severity of an adult woman, her flesh breathes with dignity, the bird goddess steadily stands on the ground, firm and unbending, like her staff - the bright personification of the crushing and power of law and power that hangs over a man. Strict and loving feathered goddess to her children, thin dark hands, hidden by sleeves framed by bird fluff, relaxed and affectionate, carmine smile - soft and wise.

The second drawing is on Egyptian themes, and now it seems to me a worthy and pleasant work. Meanwhile, an interesting experience was attempts to find the right direction during the design of clothes and character - partly dissimilar to the source, more characteristic of my opinion, but recognizable. The work was complex and intense - several times I resumed it, taking an unwanted, but partly fruitful break, having advanced in matters of anatomy and working with style. The predation and authority of the Egyptian goddess should not have been concealed, but complemented by her bird, soft features, shades of olive skin turned out to be sharper in the overall picture than I expected, but partly pleasant in addition. Anyway, everything is great, thanks a lot ~

In 2018 my inktober challenge revolved around gods and goddesses. I decided to then focus on a goddesses. I started this in mid 2019 and finished sometime before 2019 Inktober. Just never got around to post them. Btw the prompt was from @lyfeillustration 's 2016 Inktober prompt list.

Day 1: Selu - Goddess of corn and also known as the first mother in Cherokee mythology. It was said that before she passed, Selu taught her son's how to plant corn.

Day 9 - Bastet

The Egyptian cat goddess, Bastet, is the embodiment of the feminine, the goddess of life joys and family love, natural beauty, conjugal passion and sensuality, the keeper of the sacred fire of the hearth and the divine protector of motherhood. Born by the sun and moon, Bastet is the embodiment of harmony of principles, magnetism and the source of secret knowledge. Meanwhile, she cannot be called only the guardian of the hearth, her softness and sensuality go hand in hand with the predatory and vengeful lioness-Sekhmet, the goddess of war and the scorching sun. She is one of the most powerful patrons of human, but she is also a strict judge, watching over whether they was worthy in relation to their relatives when they walked along the path of life.

She has dark ebony hair, a soft curve of her eyebrows and hot, dark lips curved in a protective smile. Honey-golden, cat's sly eyes, look with mocking tenderness, framed by charcoal thick eyelashes and sharp arrows. Her features are soft and predatory at the same time, embodying the beauty not of a girl, but of a woman, her maturity and self-sufficiency. It was important for me to depict the characteristic Egyptian grace and predation, as if carved from stone features, but also to maintain the soft, sensual curves of the primitive feminine, feline nature. Her camp is both strong and soft at the same time - strong, sinewy hands are gentle and affectionate, and wide, full hips transform the bends into sensual, full of inner dignity. Two cats dutifully guard over her back, with attentive, inquiring eyes chasing the beholder, the third is standing in front of them, and the sun rises with a golden halo over her head.

It was a great pleasure to work with this drawing - because, although it does not involve new techniques or complex areas of perspective, the very aesthetics of the creation seem to me very sensual, surpassing my previous works. I am proud because, although the format still has not changed, I managed to achieve more detail than usual, and working on the anatomy of the hands was pleasant and interesting, therefore the final result more than meets my standards. I'm happy, thanks :). Cats turned out to be a little (or not a little) unusual, in order to achieve additional predation, danger and sharpness of their appearance, I attempted to depict an oriental breed, which, in turn, seems to me the most attractive and sophisticated of all possible.
