Kiss on a scar, pairing of your choice
Write Me a Kiss
"Don't," Trevelyan said, meeting that warm amber gaze.
Dorian's lips halted the rogue's argument. For a mage his hands were deft, of course he was also cheating. Warm kisses dotted over Rhys' cheek while one hand teased at his neck, distracting him just enough. When those soft lips brushed the rough scars on his cheek, he gripped Pavus' hips trying to pull and push away at the same time, but Dorian did not budge. His hands cradled Rhys' head with a gentle strength as fingers tugged the fabric away from the ruined eye and mangled flesh. His rough breathing and the soft smack of Dorian's lips rang out in the strange silence that enveloped him. The mage's cheek brushed and pressed against Trevelyan's, the nuzzling pushed Rhys' heart to racing and his hold tightened.
His lover's mouth touched his again with gentle softness. The languid kiss relaxed him some, but not enough for his hands to loosen their firm hold. Finally as his hand swept over the inquisitor's head pulling the rather craftily constructed scarf completely away, the kiss broke. Rhys did not want to open his eyes, he feared the pity or worse disgust he was sure he would in his lover’s look. His throat tightened when he felt the pressure of Dorian's fingertips tracing the scars Rhys knew so well, despite the numbness surrounding the injury. When the hand withdrew, the rogue forced himself to let go of Dorian's hips as tears burned in his good eye. He waited for the footsteps, waited to hear that beautiful man to leave.
"Will you not look at me?"
That rich voice cut through him. He never figured Dorian to be cruel enough to make Rhys watch him walk away. He swallowed at the growing lump in his throat and opened his eyes. His laughter choked him.
"What? Not me?" the man asked, never looking away from Rhys.
Dorian wore a wide smile, his eyes, well the one not covered with Trevelyan's sash was bright and warm, like always. Maybe a little warmer than usual. Rhys raised his hand to the cloth.
"It might take some getting used to, though I'm not sure red's your color."
"Psh. What are you talking about? I look absolutely stunning in red. Don't you remember the night of the ball?"
"With perfect clarity," Rhys replied. His fingers traced Dorian's jaw.
It was one of the few times he saw the mage falter. He swept the sash off his head and lashed the inquisitor with it in a jovial manner. "Then you should recall just how striking the figure I cut." That touch of vain haughtiness dissipated quickly as Dorian's fingers grazed Rhys' brow. "You're beautiful."
"And you're lying. Though I appreciate the consideration," Rhys said, trying to sound sincere as he grabbed the scarf from the other man's hand. He turned away from Dorian and wandered toward the mirror to ensure its proper replacement.
"Don't do that."
"Don't do what?"
Dorian gripped the rogue's shoulder, halting his righting of the scarf. "Don't act like I'm some nothing just trying to tell you what you want to hear." His chin rested on Trevelyan's shoulder as he slipped an arm around his waist. "You are beautiful and it's not because of the startling shade of green in your eye when the sun is shining and its not because of the way your body seems to glide through even the simplest movements like water curving around rock." Dorian pulled both their hands to Rhys' chest and pressed them over his heart. "You are the best man I know."
The inquisitor stared at their reflections, mainly Dorian’s, as he tried to find something to say in reply. Anything. "But you're the best looking," Rhys added with a lightness in his voice.
"True."
Both laughed as Trevelyan threaded his and Dorian's fingers together and pulled his arms tighter around him.
"You are beautiful," Dorian whispered against the rough skin on the right side of Rhys' face. "And I'm blessed that mine are the arms you find comfort in."
Rhys turned quickly, arms wrapping around the other man as he kissed him deeply. Dorian meant more to him than mere comfort; he had never been just that for the inquisitor—he was inspiration, hope, joy. Dorian Pavus was worth dying for, and, more importantly, worth living for. “You’re so much more,” he said, before kissing him again.

You're not the worst friend ever, things like these happen. Do not feel bad for it - everyone gets buried in life at times. Feel hugged *bear hug*

Ah thank you both, but I still wish I had better time management and willpower in order to focus the way I want to and feel like I should.
Just a reminder that you're awesome. <3
Aw you are a sweetpea, and right back atcha. I hope everything is going well!
4. If you DNF any books, what was the pettiest reason you put a book down this year?
It wasn't a manga lol. I kept picking up books that were actually novels and not comics, despite the covers. So Nope! That wasn't what I was looking for.
I hope the new year brings you only good things <3
Considering the new year was like, half a year ago, and I'm just now answering this, I think it's safe to say the new year has at least not brought me a sense of timely responsiveness, lol.
So sorry, but also, much love, hon! Hope you're well!
