You know what I noticed reading your post one Mick's aphasia and relation to the team? Nearly every word that Mick's stumbled on since s1 was in direct relation to his traumas from s1. most of the words are related to time travel - aberration and the one about entering the mind - or directly related to Leonard, like hallucination and doppelganger. I remember you saying it was word that he wouldn't remember those words after being trained on them - but maybe that's WHY. Being linked to the trauma

That is... a really good point, holy hell.

Aberration, cognitive intrusion, anachronism / doppelganger, hallucination... those are the main words we’ve seen him stumble over. I’m sure there are others but time travel and Leonard (aka, trauma) are the biggest and most obvious common denominators here.

This also explains why he didn’t have these issues before season 1. Like I fully assumed it had to do with trauma and/or brain damage (and maybe the alcoholism) but just... wow. This really drives it home.

I have a annealing suspicion that they're going to use the Spear as a Deus ex Machina to put everything back - they already set it up as saying it causes time changes without making aberrations. I feel like the season is going top end with them using it to erase all the memories, put everyone back in place, and then revive Rex and Snart. And I'm not sure if that's going to feel anticlimactic or not.

That is a really interesting theory!

It’s hard to say what that would do to their existing memories because couldn’t they try to ‘keep’ their memories using the Spear? Because I don’t think they’d so much ‘erase’ season 2, which would feel like a cop-out in a way? Putting back Rex as if he never died would sort of erase Amaya from the team and that seems like a bad call, not to mention that Amaya and Nate are probably gonna be an item soon, based on the upcoming promos.

So I can see them using the Spear to make everything as it should be, in some fashion or another, but I doubt they’ll take away everyone’s memories or use it to really ‘convert’ characters like turning Legion!Len into his former (other? Legends?) self. But maybe giving him back the memories from that timeline, or changing the timeline so that he can stick around in 2017 instead of having to return to 20XX (same with Amaya, maybe even, making it so she can stay with the Legends without causing an aberration by not returning to her own time in the 1940s?).

@goddesstio eventually we’d love to finish the arrowverse set we started (and given how many more characters have shown up since, might change the lineup a little)! ATM we don’t have the free time to do so, but we’ll have a little more wiggle room next year so here’s hoping :D

I blame legends and Len’s inability to go a single episode without taking about his partner seventeen times. I legit wasn’t shipping anything when legends started, and then for a couple episodes I was like “that is some serious bromance there guys” and then after a couple more I was like “THEY ARE CLEARLY MARRIED.”
