i liked it! i struggled with it in the beginning (started back in january, read about 40% of it then put it down) but i made it to the part where secrets about the summoning spell (you know. The Secret) dropped and suddenly i was like 👀

i loved Wrath and Emilia's relationship dynamic and wish we'd seen more of it. everything about the forced closeness to begrudging affection trope is quality for me. honestly was kinda disappointed in the ending, though, cos it felt a little like rehashing old plot points in a new place. but i guess i can't say that for certain until october, so we shall see!

i'm definitely intrigued enough to carry on to the next book. kerri's still got my money. or library card number or whatever lmao

i’ve seen your posts about addie and while I love the book and it was my #1 read for 2020, I can understand why it isn’t for anyone. what I mostly wanna say, tho, is please don’t let addie ruin ve schwab for you! her other books are incredibly different and, thankfully, lack love triangles. some of the books lack romance completely. I just love her, she’s my fav author, so just thought I’d share! (start with the darker shades of magic trilogy btw ⭐️)

oh it definitely won't! i mean, TILOAL was kind of this perfect storm of all the tropes i happen to dislike, so i recognise it's probably more of a special case than it is indicative of schwab's work in general.

and like i said, i adore her writing style, which is pretty much the only reason i get into a book in the first place. plus, i own all of adsom and the vicious duo, and my dad has read and loved both, so now that i've established i enjoy her writing, i'm pretty much obligated to read the others 😂🙈

I am a boring person and have honestly not traveled a ton! I wish I travelled though! However I have been to a few places

New York City (honestly I'd count this as the top 4 haha bc I loved it that much. I have been there twice)

Ground Zero in NYC (I was old enough for 9/11 to remember the day pretty clearly so I enjoyed seeing the memorial there

Four Corners (where you can stand in one place and be in 4 states at once. I live in Utah which is one of the four corners states and i have family in New Mexico very near where The Four Corners is so I went when visiting them one time)

California

I WANT TO TRAVEL TO EUROPE (I'm confident that would be in my top 5 😅)
