hi ! I'm currently looking into starting to keep some bugs as wee pets ! You've mentioned in the past that you also keep some bugs around and I was wondering, if you have housemates, did you have to convince them that they would be okay ?? Or, if that's not a question you want to answer or if the answer is no, do you have any ideas/tips about introducing the idea to the people you live with ? (I want to start raising beetles)
I actually live alone! So I didn't have anyone to convince. But I would start by educating them about the species you want to keep and how they're not in any way harmful. And also it may help to explain the type of enclosure you'll be keeping them in and how it's definitely escape-proof so they have nothing to worry about anyway! And of course be ready to make concessions like keeping the enclosure in your room with your door closed if possible.
