here’s my counter-counter essay which details why both chilchack and marcille are underrated in their own seperate ways but my beef lies in the fact that I made a chilchack post which got less than 500 notes on tumblr and still ended up on first page google image search because there is THAT little fanart of him, whereas while Marcille is underrated in that her personality is often filtered through fanon lens into something watered down despite her flairs, at least she’s the most drawn of all the characters, in this essay I will..... but yeah dungeon meshi phenomenal n u rite

Call me biased, but it’s def Oberon. I’ve known him the longest by far, and I just think he’s a great character to bounce off of. He serves as a good straight man (pun intended), but with a good sense of direction buried beneath the exterior. That he’s lowkey a bit of a romantic is so sweet to me. 

Also shout-out to him for being one of the few Broody characters I wholeheartedly like, because his brooding isn’t at the expense of the party. Except that time he robbed them. But he got better.
