Despite the chilling cold of the waning afternoon, the dozing beauty felt none of it as she remained nestled within the confines of the botanical garden’s glass. She found herself comforted by the familiarity of the flora that she surrounded herself with as she ignored the sky lines shadowing the sky line like the mountains she remembered from so long ago. The urge to hide deeper inside her cocoon of greenery left her in a state of vulnerability and made her skin feel naked without their touch a she inched back into their embrace amongst the soil and evening after mist that had long since sodded the edges of her skirt and bare feet. Though the touches were fine, they lacked the warmth she wanted and never seem to quench the ever present aching in her heart for her homeland. She missed her hearth, the smell of the cinders and ash that floated there as she would lay a new layer of rose-marry and sage to her fires. Rae closed her eyes in reverence of the memory as she breathed deeply and found herself smiling at the echo of small feet and chiming giggles that filled her ears. Home she signed. The woman missed her simple life there and those she had come to love but she knew it was to no avail. Rae had decided when she first set out to shake the presence that had been following her these past years before she ever even consider returning home for she feared for the lives of her mortals. They had nothing to protect themselves against such a creature, if it even was a creature, and would surely die if they tried to fight it alone. Whatever it was, it was powerful enough to withstand a Goddess’ might and manage to conceal it’s identity within the shadows. Coward she sniffed.OPE
