I read, on average, about two books every week in 2023. That’s a lot of books, authors, and series. This post is an incomplete list, but if I were to give a complete one, I would have to list every book I reviewed in 2023.

So, I kept the list of the stuff that first bubbled to the top of my mind when I asked myself to recollect the year. I don’t have these books and authors in any particular order, but they are in categories!

12/30/23 I checked the website (isibugs.org) and it is legit.

Also, as someone who does genomic sequencing, DNA does have to be stored at -80, and unfortunately the extraction & sequence process for the number of specimens they have would be far more time/resource consuming than finding a new place to store the bugs whole.

Even if they just did the extraction, the extract would still need to be kept at -80, and it would take up less room, but they'd probably want to hold on to the remaining specimen until they could sequence the extract and be sure the data was clean.

Basically, they definitely need a place to store this freezer unless a major diagnostic corporation were to take pity on them and extract and sequence the bugs in the next three weeks (less likely than finding an outlet).

Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.

There’s also a Firefox/Chrome extension called Behind The Overlay that does all that with one mouse click. Used it for years; what a time saver.

There's something called a KOSA Bill in the US. It's a project planning to cut off internet access to ALL CHILDREN WORLDWIDE. This means they are banning Chai/C.AI, Wattpad, AO3, Discord, Tumblr, Tiktok, etc.

To make matters worse, parents will have access to their children's internet activity, meaning chats, websites visited, apps opened, etc. Giving them NO privacy whatsoever. Esp. children who are LGBTQIA+, because in the US, it is deemed "inappropriate".

There is a solution to this, however only to people who have Tiktok, there is a user named omarsbigsister, if you check their profile, you can see in their bio it says "STOP KOSA!! ⬇️⬇️"

How to keep seeing Smut and other writers content

Back in September 2022, Tumblr introduced a new feature called “Community Labels.” You can read Tumblr’s official post about it HERE.

In theory, it seemed like a great new system to allow more Mature Content to return to Tumblr. It would allow more freedom for creators to post and express themselves however they wanted!

But in practice, the feature, as it is now, is absolutely awful! As soon as a post get a Label slapped on, it’s basically dead. Shadowbanned! Censored! Nonexistent!

The reasoning is because Tumblr made Community Labels a forced feature for everyone, meaning that every single blog on this platform automatically have Mature Content set to “hide.” Posts that have a Mature Label on them won’t show up on the dashboard, on blogs, or in the tags for you.

A lot of people don’t know that this feature exists, and are missing out on a lot of posts from their favorite creators.

If you still want to continue to be able to access, read and support all the smutty fanfictions and posts, you have to go into your settings and set “Mature” and “Sexual Themes” on “show.”

As a bonus! Every Monday from 6AM to 6PM EST, Tumblr opens their ask on their official WIP BLOG page, where you can share your feedback about Tumblr. HERE is my post on the suggestions I’ve put forward to @staff on how Community Labels can be improved. You can, of course, come with your own concerns and don’t need to follow all of mine. I’m hoping more people will take this chance to voice their opinions about the ongoing issue with the Community Labels.

Now with this new feature implemented, it’s another of the many hurdles content creators have to go through every time they post. Right now is the time to show your support to your content creators! Shower them with love and praise! Comment! Reblog! Send asks! Don’t just sit around and do nothing and then get surprised/upset when your favorite creator leaves this platform due to lack of support. Be the support that they need right now!

Urgent - I'm stranded without medication and housing

Hi - I'm a trans woman stranded alone in Spain after being victim of a robbery last weekend. I was left without any cash, any money on my bank, my passport, my HRT and OCD medication and my phone.
