Waterman Man 100 Gold "Specimen" c1988 forward. This is a pen that visited us in 2004. It's basically a fake gold plated version of the solid gold MAN 100 that dealers could use as demonstrators so wealthy customers could try out the pen and order the real pen and know that they would be getting an untouched new pen. The full 18 karat solid gold model is a heavily fluted Godron design, first offered in 1988, and also available in solid sterling silver and as a twist action ballpoint. All elements of the solid gold pen would be hallmarked, including the cap, section, barrel, end cap and clip. This pen is stamped "SPECIMEN" on the cap, barrel and section to make sure there is no doubt that this one is a facsimile gold plated demonstrator. Loaned for photos by Stan Klemanowicz.
