I finished Lesser Evil (after so long) and I have some questions about my favorite blue man. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Rebels with all my heart (it has my favorite moment in all of SW). Ahsoka did pull on my nostalgia strings for Rebels so I had a good time. But I can't for the life of me get over the disconnect between Book!Thrawn and Show!Thrawn.
Book!Thrawn is very precious to me and I will always love him. He's my art nerd til the end of time. Anyways, at the end of Lesser Evil, he tells Ba'kif that he will anything to protect the Chiss, no matter the cost. But with the Ahsoka show, we still don't have any reference back to the Chiss or the Grysk and I'm just wondering if they're ever going to address that in either one of the future shows/movies or even a book.
In Ahsoka, Thrawn is still on his "long live the empire" schtick. My man is either playing the long game in a way only he knows, he's completely disregarded the Chiss and is on some power high, or the Chiss actually got whooped by the Grysk off screen and Thrawn decided to abort mission and shift completely to the Empire.
I just hope we get answers soon because I love Thrawn and it really feels like the books, both Legends and Canon, exist in their own little universe somewhere. Meanwhile, Show!Thrawn is a completely separate entity with bits and pieces of both book canons attached to his character. And I know that books have been retconned before by Dave, but I feel like they need to reference the Chiss again at some point... right?
(And where’s Eli??? Please reference him even tho he’s somewhere in the Ascendancy)
