God’s Abomination: Millennian and Orga redesigns
As a 10 year old in 2000, seeing that Godzilla was coming back after the 1998 movie, I was elated. Ironically, all I ever saw from the Millennium series was Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla Final Wars. I still need to do some catch up on Millennium, I’ve seen all the Showa films, Heisei and Legendary, and unfortunately, The Netflix films lmao. Shin Godzilla and Minus One are the best in Reiwa, don’t @ me.
In the years after I saw Godzilla 2000, I saw Cloverfield. And I immediately made the correlation between Clover and Orga. Clover was a “skinny” Orga in my brain. It’s strictly because of their coloration and body shapes. So when I approached the redesign in this universe, I wanted to bring Clover into it, without him being a separate monster.
I might catch heat for this redesign, but it’s something I enjoyed doing.
Lore beneath the cut:
Godzilla was in pain. Agony that could only be rivaled by the burning pain that the Oxygen Destroyer had given him years prior. The crystalline infection in his arm was spreading. Slowly, but spreading nonetheless.
He was unable to move the arm without it cracking or shattering. The searing pain of the arm moving in its socket would make him roar and hiss. He secluded himself, hiding away from the surface and leaving Mothra and the other defenders to watch after the surface world.
Even Junior was kept away from him by Zilla, as Mothra forbade anyone going near Godzilla. She was afraid that the infection would spread.
While Godzilla was in seclusion, the cosmos swirled. Something from deep inside the yawning chasm was headed towards Earth.
The beast landed on Earth, crashing into the ocean and waking an ashen skinned monster that had been lying dormant at the bottom for thousands of years. The two fought, but the translucent alien beast won, and it devoured the grey skinned behemoth.
Months would pass before the monstrosity emerged, having assumed the form of the monster it ate within the ocean, retaining its own unique coloration but completely transforming into the sea creature.
NASA scientists had dubbed the monster “Millennian'' when it was assumed that it was just a meteor. The full name of the meteor was C10 (Category 10) VER (Vector Echo Romeo) “Millennian.”
As the beast meandered through cities and towns, it seemed curious at first, the air sacs on the side of its head were constantly inflating and deflating, stolen body functions from the one that the beast had absorbed.
Anguirus and Gorosaurus attacked the monster after its short tour of the city, easily overpowering it and knocking it around. Anguirus slashed open the beast’s belly, while Goro kicked it hard enough to break its leg and then its arm.
The monster bellowed in agony, snarling and scrambling to escape its attackers, but Anguirus wasn’t letting up. He followed the beast further into the city, doing his best to avoid the buildings and catch up with Millennian.
After a chase that lasted long enough to attract media attention, Millennian turned and slashed Anguirus, tossing him backwards into the buildings nearby before slamming its claws into a powergrid. As the electric translucent tendrils of its form seeped into the metal coils, it brought in thousands upon thousands of watts of power.
Anguirus attacked again before a massive fog rolled out of Millennian. As he aimed for where he last saw the alien, Anguirus suddenly heard a snapping and then a wet shredding shortly after… Then a massive hand reached out of the fog, grabbing him by the throat.
As the fog cleared, The newly transformed Millennian towered over Anguirus. Its broken arm snapped back into place as its distorted original form now was grey like the original creature it had consumed.
It chuffed, before letting out a strained roar that sounded like a mix of a laugh and screams of agony. Anguirus clawed desperately to escape the beast before Goro smashed into it and sent it flying backwards. Anguirus was released, landing on his feet before revving into a wheel and shooting after the monster.
Orga, as the media team had come to call him, was massive. It appeared he rivaled or surpassed Godzilla’s height. He stepped out of the debris of the building he’d collided with, before roaring and charging into Gorosaurus. The angry theropod kicked Orga in the head, but the beast shrugged it off like it was nothing. Orga tilted its head upwards and bit down hard on Goro’s leg, turning to the side and flinging the dinosaur into a row of buildings, tumbling him head over tail several times. Anguirus slammed like a buzz saw into Orga and began cutting into him before Orga’s massive hands grabbed him, stopping his momentum instantly.
Anguirus blinked and roared in surprise as Orga lifted him, before the monster tore its own jaws open to make its maw even larger. Anguirus dangled over the bloodied maw of the alien, unsure if he’d be able to survive. Before Orga could devour Anguirus, a blue beam struck him in the chest, knocking him off balance and releasing Anguirus once more.
Godzilla stormed through, his eyes flashing white with hostility as his crystallized arm cracked and wiggled in its socket.
Orga snarled and charged at him in return. The two clashed, sending a shockwave each direction, before Orga smashed his fist into Godzilla’s head, knocking him into the ground face first. Orga lifted Godzilla, before tossing him skyward and using his two massive clawed hands to scoop upwards and double uppercut him into the bay nearby.
Godzilla landed, causing a tidal wave with his impact before he stood and fired his atomic blast, converting it to his Chorus blast. Orga used his forearm to take the brunt of the blast before absorbing the energy and lifting the cornering of his maw. He pulled a clump of his own flesh away, digging a hole into the side of his neck before a yellow light emanated from within the gash.
Suddenly, a cone of line blasted outward from Orga, shredding Godzilla’s chest and arm, his crystallized arm cracked but seemed to take the damage easily. As he healed, Godzilla looked Orga over, taking in the attacks he’d seen thus far before huffing and changing his approach.
He charged at Orga, and much like before, the alien did the same, almost as if it was mirroring him. But instead of clashing again, Godzilla turned, hard enough to twist the earth beneath him and crack the foundation of the road before his tail hit with a force strong enough to demolish mountains.
Orga snarled and snapped at the point of contact, his bones and spine breaking before he tumbled much like how he’d done to Goro earlier. He landed on his back, before quickly standing back up. He healed, quickly at that, charging into Godzilla and pummeling him with his colossal hands.
Anguirus and Goro circled around Orga and then attacked. Goro used his tail to spear Orga’s shoulder with the cannon on it, tugging him off of Godzilla, before Andguirus twirled, using his tail to trip Orga. As Orga landed on his back, before he could stand, Anguirus smashed into him from above, pressing his back full of spines into the alien. Goro then raised his tail and slammed it into Anguirus’ outstretched palms to force him deeper into Orga’s flesh.
Orga snarled, his body nearly coming apart with the force and pressure of the hit by Goro. But still he stood up. Anguirus went to retreat before Orga grabbed him by the tail. Goro went to kick Orga and save Anguirus like before, but the beast was wise to his attacks now. Orga backhanded Goro’s kick, sending the dinosaur flying back.
Godzilla wheezed and snarled, trying to move towards Orga. As he did so, the alien looked him in the eye, and lifted Anguirus to his maw, spreading his jaws wide before biting his ally’s head off.
His eyes flashed white again, his wounds healing even faster as he roared in anger. He charged into Orga, but the Alien used his friend’s corpse to batter him into the earth. Orga loomed over Godzilla, before turning and focusing on Goro. The dinosaur roared without fear, coiling onto his tail and launching himself skyward before barreling down onto the alien.
He kicked Orga hard enough in the head on the way down that the ground beneath him shattered outward, then cratered beneath them. Orga reached through the dust and debris, grabbing Goro by the chest and smashing him into the ground. Goro kicked and struggled, roaring in protest to being held down before the alien looked back at his legs and seemed to put together how his enemy functioned.
Orga grabbed Goro’s leg, pulling it upwards and making the monster yowl in agony, as the bone started to break, there was a flash in the sky.
Orga stopped, looking back to see what had made the flash, and was struck in the face by a bolt of golden energy. Mothra and Battra joined the fight.
As the sibling moths circled Orga, they took turns slamming into him and blasting his flesh, the beast tossed Goro aside and began blasting his own energy beam skyward.
Shortly after their arrival, a loud thunderclap filled the air and Pharaoh was in the fight as well. The three airborne monsters clashed with Orga, wearing him down one by one while Godzilla felt the effects of the crystallization started to grow deeper within him.
He stumbled, unable to walk straight, as his allies fought Orga. As if a second wind hit Orga, he blasted Battra, then punched Pharaoh, sending the insects to the earth in a spectacular crash. Mothra continued to bob and weave, keeping away from his fists and the cannon blast.
Mothra caught Orga’s fist, lifting him skyward as she displayed her immense strength, before she called out with a loud cry. Godzilla tilted his head, as the last time she’d used that call, she was fighting him. This was serious.
Then a loud thunderclap filled the sky once again, confusing Godzilla even more, as Pharaoh was already there. Then a third moth arrived in the sky, smashing into Orga and pressing him into the ground before blasting him with its antennae at close range. Orga’s face shredded before he reached for the new moth and missed. Junior had followed Mothra to the surface, wanting to help, as he entered the fray, Orga’s attention was immediately locked onto the young king.
Godzilla wheezed as the infection crept further inside him, but he wasn’t down yet. With a roar, he smashed into Orga, knocking him off balance after the beast tried going after Junior.
Orga opened his maw wide, allowing his laser to curve inwards and fire outwards as a pulse, knocking the flying enemies away and pushing Godzilla aside. He then stormed over, grabbing at Junior. The young king let loose a cone of unstable atomic energy, Orga was covered in it as he roared in agony and a thick smoke billowed around him.
Junior stepped back, believing he’d conquered the foe. Then Orga lurched out of the smoke, his face melting off his body, his massive jaws wide open to devour him. Junior yelped and dodged before realizing the beast was not going to relent, he wanted to kill him.
Godzilla stood, his flesh around the infection seeming to struggle with healing itself as he tried to run after Orga, before his eyes went wide. Orga grabbed Junior, pulling his tail and lifting him high above his head. His huge maw was charred and bloodied, but still able to open.
Something in Godzilla snapped. His eyes developed a mist that wafted away from his eyes as he roared, the sound was strong enough to warp the surrounding area as he barreled forward at Orga. He slammed into him, knocking Junior away from his grasp before the alien proceeded to slash and pummel Godzilla.
Orga struck his enemy over and over, blood starting to splash his fists as he pressed Godzilla further and further into the ground. Then, Godzilla lurched out of the crater and bit down on Orga’s neck, ripping it away and causing the beast to stumble, his yowls of agony replacing his deep and almost laugh-like roar.
Godzilla lurched forward again, ripping one of the extra arms off of his stomach away with his teeth. Orga punched Godzilla, but the alpha predator bit down on his arm and snapped the bones in his fingers. Godzilla then reared his left arm back, ignoring the searing pain as he shoved it like a spear into Orga’s throat, twisting and turning it before roaring with effort. He snapped his arm off inside of Orga as the infected limb imploded, like a shrapnel bomb, causing the alien to fall apart, fragments of the infection crystals gleaming in his eviscerated flesh.
Mothra let out a cry, indicating she was relieved Godzilla had won, but then went silent as he turned to face her.
The smoke continued to billow from his eyes as he breathed ragged breaths, his crystal arm slowly reforming. He lurched towards her, intending to stab her with his arm. Battra struck him, knocking him aside and indicating to Mothra to flee. Pharaoh joined Battra and the two kept Godzilla distracted while Mothra pushed Junior to leave the vicinity.
The third moth let out a cry and circled around to attack Godzilla in an ambush tactic. But Godzilla was aware of their attack patterns. He turned abruptly, his crystal arm stretched out to impale the new moth. Pharaoh roared in fear and with all his might, flew at his fastest speed to protect the young moth.
There was a loud pop, then a thunderous shattering as Godzilla stumbled backwards, his arm disintegrating. Pharaoh, covered in fragments and shards, wheezed and groaned in pain, slowly crashing to the earth.
Mothra and the young moth let out a cry of agony at the sight of Pharaoh’s damaged form, both landing at his side. Mothra seemed to comfort the MUTO as he slowly sank from his arms holding his weight, to lying on his stomach. His blue eyes slowly dimmed, before flickering to a deeper shade of blue and no longer glowing.
As Godzilla staggered his way towards them, the smoke slowly cleared from his eyes, and he blinked away the blurriness within them. Realizing what he’d done, he tried to approach Mothra, hoping she would understand he didn’t mean to do it.
Mothra attacked Godzilla, ferociously stabbing and clawing at him before he was able to get out of her grasp. His foot pressed into the earth, but it was softer than it should have been, his hulking form falling into what appeared to be a red portal that materialized beneath him. Mothra followed him in, before it closed.
To be continued…
