If I had a nickel for every time I was drawing Malevolent art and I got asked if I was drawing Jesus, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice
I feel like this episode was an ultimate show case of Malevolent’s strongest elements.
The voice acting: the way you couldn’t quite be sure when John and Arthur were being entranced and when they were being earnest was really disarming, it was awesome. The frenzied tone of both Arthur AND John was so unsettling, it made it one of Malevolent’s scariest episodes for me.
Music: How far we’ve come came in which was cool. The music felt very fairy-tale like. The music going from the usual humorous and light hearted strings that usually plays for light scenes, to distorted and strained was wicked. I liked that there was no music for the scene with Horig. It allowed the the editing in his voice to really shine through
Sound design: the sound of the trees was a good touch. The editing on Horig’s voice was phenomenal. Malevolent always has great spatial audio, but this really pushed it to new heights!
