Sweet, Spice and Hot Water Is Always Nice- 7.6k Mike (renamed from Me-Playing It Cool) x You. Mike is struggling to get a story line down for his script, and you were sent home from work. You just LOVE when Aunt Flo comes to visit (insert sarcasm), and Mike has a suggestion to make you feel better. Warnings- Period Sex (it isnt overly graphic though) Male receiving Oral, Fingering, One mention of blood. Thigh Riding cause its a mood. That is about it. A mild argument. Oh swear or two, cause ya know me. And I know, another holiday fic with him, but Holidays are my favorite, and I just love these two.

Not exactly part of the salt asks but thoughts on the accords from civil war?

absolutely bullshit manufactured by people who don’t actually care about discussing the ethics of Superpeople.

There’s some really interesting fics who do city/state/federal ordinances on superheroes/vigilantes much better.

This is the one that springs to mind.

But here’s the reasons why I don’t give a shit about the accords:

A) there’s no follow through. All that drama and they didn’t end up meaning anything. They were only used to pit Steve and Tony against each other, whereas it makes more sense for Steve and Tony to be on the same side and for them to actually support the smaller scale folks that would effect, i.e. Daredevil, Spiderman, etc. It would have been more interesting too, to see the Big Guys trying to find common ground with the street-level dudes and being slammed in the face with culture shock and the realization that they are part of a subculture/community that they don’t actually know a whole hell of a lot about.

B) The accords are too high stakes. GOD. Someone, for the love of god, bring the stakes DOWN. How the fuck am I supposed to feel involved in a story when it’s happening on a level that is so far removed from my everyday??? If you want to play politics, fine.

Play politics.

But play politics like DD plays politics--give me superheroes standing at a fancy gala while Wilson Fisk, mayor of New York city, tries to convince them to chase vigilantes out of the city. Give me superpeople messily trying to pick a side and not feeling like they know who to trust. Like, fuck. The other option from Wilson Fisk is The Punisher. Do we like the punisher? No, man.

But like.....dude. Rhodey, Tony, Sam Wilson were in the same war as Frank.

God I want to know how those various view points of war play out between those guys.

Like, if you want to play politics bring it down to the nitty gritty. The literal ground. Show me the direct effects of politics on the people who had to carry that shit out and who were effected by it on all sides.

Start there and end there. And stop trying to raise the stakes higher than that.

That’s what I would have wanted from something like the accords, I think.

This is SUCH a beautiful book and the bestest book I read last year. It‘s so super queer, a gay protagonist, falling in love with a gay Indian girl and so many other gay side characters, so much representation and so well done. I fell in love with Bex on the first page already and never stopped loving her, I only fell in love with Shrupty too, whups. I love the story, the characters, the writing style, everything. It‘s so so so good. ❤️🏳️‍🌈 Read it!

Recsmas 2019 - December 22 - A book with awesome girls Going Off Script by Jen Wilde 

After not really enjoying Queens of Geek, I fell in love with Jen Wilde’s writing this year. Going Off Script was wonderfully original in that it follows a teenager starting their first professional job, something I hadn’t read about before. Bex was such a wonderful character and I loved watching her find her voice with the help of all her new friends. It was such a diverse cast and I can’t wait to see what Jen Wilde writes next.
