I wanted to do a fun little community thing for the GH readers while we wait for chapter 7, so I decided to put together a "contest"! If you want your own alien to be featured in the background of my comic, send them to me with the hashtag #GoingHomeAlien!

I hope everyone has fun coming up with their own characters, and if anyone has any questions let me know!

thought it would be fun to take part in the Going Home Alien Design Entries, and what better way than to revamp a super old character for funsies? my cyclops boy who as of right now am calling Lotie (like lotus but not really bc I called him that for some reason). he’s a bit sassy and a smart-aleck if you give him the chance, he didn’t ask to be in prison, he just wants the wifi password.

They are extremely peaceful and friendly. They are very strong and agile but not very smart. The typical thing, which can easily smash a metal armored door, but you give it a bucket and it easily gets its head stuck (Maybe it even draws a happy face to the bucket to look friendlier) They are not entirely stupid, because they can tell who is mean to them, remember faces, etc. They have some "folds" on the back that can vary depending on the generation (it means that you can change them if you have a problem), they are in charge of collecting the solar rays to make photosynthesis and get most of their energy (If they are unable to get Sufficient solar rays, they have to replenish energy by eating plants - leaves, sticks, fruits, etc). Meat is a very powerful poison for them. As young they live up to 10 human years (they measure like a soccer ball, with weak hind legs and a pair of undeveloped arms), as adolescents (image) they live another 300 years and as adults they can live as long as they want, until they find a place to die and let their body become another generation (as adults they can measure even more than the Ifel tower). They have no sex or gender. You can change the colors somewhat, because it currently looks like an albino. I personally think that the light color with the red or orange details would be the best. They communicate through sounds that come out of the lower folds of their neck (similar to the background sounds of "BEGINNERS, Night Panda - Start A Riot"), as they are not very intelligent they can hardly learn words from other languages, almost always the only that they learn is "hug" (because it is the action that they perform the most among themselves and other species) so their name can be a play on words of that word or simply in another language.

Some alien designs for the Going Home “contest”!

The blue snake-like one is Sashami. She comes from a tropical planet and her color helped her hide among the many flowers that grew there. Her whole family was taken and she thinks her brother is on the same ship somewhere. But she hasn’t seen him. She’s not a fan of strangers and can be a bit cold. She’s about six feet long.

The robot looking one is Ansro. The green bits are lenses that he sees through and the yellow strip on his face lifts to allow food in. The yellow bits on the side screw off to allow oil, lubricants, and other fluids into his robotic body. He can’t express his emotions though his face, so he’s usually very forward and literal. He stands at a height of four feet but he’s very strong as his job was to operate and maintenance heavy machinery.

The last one is Sage. He’s kind of an ass in the “I’ve given up hope and I’m making it everyone’s problem” sort of way. He’s been there long enough to know exactly what pisses off the guards. He’s quite good at dodging as well. The planet he’s from is well developed but also home to dense and fast growing flora. Paths between towns are quickly overgrown and the plants attacked people too. Old legends said the plants dragged off people to feed the planet. Crazy stuff if you asked Sage. He was a traveling merchant and thusly has a good eye for things of value. He’s just as likely to con you out of your belongings as he is to show you the ropes. He’s just a tad shorter than Sashami. Also don’t poke the pink of his cheeks. They’re sensitive. Ouchies.

A female afreet named Mirna. She has a large family who she misses terribly. Her species are really social, and they usually form 'a swarm' that includes all the people they are close to from friends to family. They would do anything to protect their swarm from harm.
