Every once in a while, most of us go on vacation to different parts of the world. Well, you primarily know that you will definitely go somewhere, free your mind and spend time with your family and friends. However, do all of you actually know how to get ready for that adventure? Whether or not you’re a college student or an independent adult, follow these simple tips and you’ll be fine. With that said, let’s jump right into it!
1.Decide where you want to go.
That’s a no-brainer. Defining where you want to go sets a goal to work towards. A lot of people talk vaguely about travel. They never say where they are going, just that they are going somewhere for sure. Picking a destination is immensely important, as it gives you a specific goal. It’s a lot easier to think to yourself, “I’m going to London” than “I’m going to Europe.” Not only will your vacation become more concrete for you and easier to commit to, but it will make your planning easier as well.
2.Decide the length of your stay there.
How much does it actually cost to travel? You will have no idea without knowing how long you’re gonna be there. You can’t figure out how much you need to save if you haven’t decided on how long you’ll be in your destination, which brings me to my next point:
3.Research your costs
Do you know how much a plane ticket from Singapore to Hong Kong costs? Exactly, you have to surf the web to know the average prices and get to know how expensive it could potentially be. Whether or not you are gonna go backpacking or pamper yourself with a lavish, luxurious holiday, you still have to spend money, and if you don’t want to end your holiday bankrupt, start researching on the above websites to know your fundamental costs for your vacation as well as the admission fees to attractions. You will be glad you did that before your vacation!
4.Start saving money
This is the most important thing to do before your trip and probably the hardest to do. For example, if you need $2,000 USD for the trip you’re taking in eight months, that means you only have to save $8.33 per day. Couldn’t you find a way to save $8 per day? In order to make your saving plans work out, you have to put in the effort to do so. If you don’t have any sense of direction on how to start or what you need to do, check out my other blog post and thank me later!
5. Check for Last-Minute Deals
Okay, you’re inspired, prepared, and on your way to saving money for your trip. But before you go buy that flight or book that hotel, check for deals you might have missed. You may dream of London but maybe there are great deals to Paris right now. Maybe you can get a seven-day cruise for 70% off, a package deal to Hawaii for the price of your flight to London, or 50% off sailing trips around Puerto Rico. It’s a big world out there, and there are lots of places you might want to see, so if I end up choosing B over A, I’m happy! If you’re flexible as well, make sure you are on the lookout for any money-saving deals.
6.Book Your Flight
After you’ve used your travel credit card and received your sign-up bonus, use your miles to book your flight. It is harder to use miles these days due to less availability, so make sure to book early to insure you get your desired flight. Visit sites like Google Flights, Skyscanner and Vayama to get deals on cheap air tickets.
7.Book Your Accommodation
If you are a backpacker or on a cheap holiday, you might just want to use Coachsurfing or just search near your various locations for cheap backpacker hostels. If you’re there for a long vacation, you might just wanna get a room at the Marriott Hotel or the Holiday Inn. Whatever it is, and wherever you’re gonna be staying, be sure to log on to Hotels.com, Hostelworld or Agoda(for Southeast Asia).
8.Pack Your Bags
I will be writing about that soon, so do stay tuned by following my blog!
9. Have Fun!
Go on your trip and have fun! Head to the airport, board your plane (don’t ever forget your passport!), and enjoy the fruits of your labor! Enjoy Your Trip!
You might want to start planning for your next trip already, so do follow my tips and you will be set to have one of the best vacations of your life! Till Next Time!
Peace & Love,
Zeke
How to plan any vacation ever. Every once in a while, most of us go on vacation to different parts of the world.
En route Ubin! #goingoverseas (at Pulau Ubin Public Jetty)
Today I received some news that I wasn't looking forward to hearing, and that was a txt from my best friend Clayton. He told me he got informed by his NCO that he's getting shipped out in two weeks to head over to Bagram Airfield base in Afghanistan. He was supposed to come home on the first of July, but now he is unable to. It's been bugging me all today hearing about this, because I miss him so much, the last time I saw him was back in January, and us being apart for the amount of time has really taken a toll on me. Him, his twin brother, and I grew up together ever since we were toddlers. I am terrified to lose him, and the thought of him coming back in a casket really saddens me. He told me that he'll be running convoys delivering supplies to fobs around the area, and his buddy got hit 7 times in one day during a convoy. He kept telling me that he'll be safe, and we'll see each other when he comes over in 7 months, but still I'm going to be constantly worried about him, and it will suck so much. If I lost Clayton myself would go insane, and I wouldnt be able to handle his death. All I can do is keep my faith high and tell myself he'll be safe over there.
