I haven’t heard about this problem before, but for all I know there could be some truth to it. Just one comment about the MYD mod - it could be that something in this mod is interfering with something in your game, rather than it being the amount of items causing problems. Nowadays there’s also the problem with GUIDs being more or less randomly assigned, which could end up being a problem.
Maybe the mod itself is causing some issues in your game. Just because it works fine for the creator doesn’t mean it will work perfectly for everyone else.
Well, yes. I could be wrong, last time I added a bunch of new stuff and had the same problem, I found a crashy rug a few weeks later, so I can’t ever be 100% sure. There’s no logs or error messages, just a crash to desktop, and there could quite easily be a glitchy piece of CC hiding somewhere in my downloads that I won’t find until I stumble across the right conditions to make it crash consistently. That’s what makes this thing such a pain to investigate.
That said, I don’t think it’s the mod, or the CC that comes with it. I took out half of the new objects, then the other half, then put the whole mod in and took out a totally unrelated folder of stuff I knew worked, and then did a duplicate GUID scan for good measure, then played around taking out items one by one until the game stopped crashing, then added random objects back, which all crashed the game, then took the dig mod out entirely and put a completely different bunch of objects in that I’d just downloaded, then a bunch of objects I’d taken out a couple of months ago last time I had this problem. Every single time, no matter which combo of objects it was, once I added about 50, the game crashed. So until something else happens, I can really only conclude that this was the fault of the object limit.
