So I just remembered that I forgot to post the portraits i did for a small video series for a lore/rp-heavy goio event (part 1, part 2) around a year or two ago.

It was a ton of fun :D. Part three isn’t out yet (and will probably never come out) but im 100% ok with that because I had to voiceact one of the parts and im glad that it isn't seeing the light of day xD.

Ok so I’m gonna yell about goio for a bit because I can’t play or even do anything related to this damn game without getting irrationally mad (and replaying every single anxiety attack I’ve had because of this stupid game in my dumb head).

Maybe this’ll get it out of my system. I dunno,

Disclaimer- I am very bad at separating delusions from reality so some of this might not make any sense.

I hold the opinion that the rydrs are either a cause or a direct product of the downfall of goio’s community. They only exist as they do now because they fucked over other people. They took advantage of the competitive scene’s decline and got as many good players from other teams as they could. Which makes sense, thats fine. EXCEPT. Those players could’ve started their own groups and the comp scene would’ve eventually reached a stable state. As it is right now, its fucking doomed.

Rydr basically has a monopoly on the very experienced and trained players. So every medium player who showed up and wanted to get into goio was just crushed. So most of them left. Even the few who did stick around long enough to become vets, they weren’t enough to make a difference. And then people just “oh man i wonder why the community is decaying, what happene-” YOU HAPPENED.

When a monopoly exists, you can eventually only do one of two things: Give up or Give in.

And then theres the issue of goio as a whole being doomed. This game is about teamwork so its community is what supports it, and then its community is declining because of the reason i stated above (plus a couple of other factors).  Even when/if co-op and adventure mode come out, those things are DLC. What kind of new player buys dlc???? The people who are going to buy that stuff are the people who ALREADY PLAY AND ENJOY THE GAME. You’ve made your current community happy but that doesn’t stop the decline at all. Maybe it would work if co-op was dlc and adventure mode was a free huge content update, but I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be ok, maybe dlc will bring back older players and bring everyone together again, who knows. I don’t. I’m just an extremely pessimistic and spiteful guy yelling about video games.
