Well since my fics are being posted on here without credit let me start posting them myself then. I’ll be leaving a link to my AO3 too if you’d like to continue reading them! I’m almost done with the third chapter!
Summary: Gojo and you have a past together. Are your fates destined to be together or are you both just meant to stay in the past. Finding each other after 3 years.
“YOU WERE ALL I WANTED, EVERYTHING TO ME ” you scream at the top of your lungs voice cracking, tears blurring your vision
Neither of you understand how it’s come to this. Screaming matches day in and day out. Where did the excitement of seeing one another go to? The hugs and kisses?
You understood how important he was in the world of Sorcery. The two of you have known each other since high school, it’s not like you went blind into a relationship with him.
“You did everything you said you wouldn’t do. You were careless and fucking reckless with my heart. You got used to having me here, it feels like you stopped trying.” The tears are coming harder now, feeling your throat hot and raw.
“Is that what you think? Is that what you really feel?” -he scoffs “I thought you knew me better than that, guess I was wrong” he says looking straight at you.
You two should stop. These words are being said because you both are hurt and scared, not wanting to lose one another. The both of you are ignoring the voice inside of your heads it’s pleading for this to stop. But neither of you have been able to stop, pent up emotions have come to the surface and they came with vengeance.
Gojo has tried his best to make this work, you’re the one for him. That’s what he said ever since you two became friends, the day he first laid eyes on you, he knew it was the end for him. He thought he was just being a dreamer, but when you both decided to become a couple he confirmed it. You were everything good the world has to offer and he needed to protect you from this ugly world. And that’s what he’s been doing, maybe he should’ve talked to you more, check in more, there’s things he could have handled better. The curses keep getting stronger and more are popping up left and right. He just wanted a better and safer world for everyone and especially you. Caught up in that he failed to notice you were slipping through his fingers, he kept missing important moments, spending less time at your shared apartment, you grew distant and reserved. You still loved him deeply but it wasn’t feeling the same anymore and you got used to being alone.
Gojo had been noticing how your eyes didn’t light up the same when you saw him, how your smile didn’t reach your eyes anymore. He wanted to puke that night. The both of you tried fixing it, tried everything; but he still had a job to do.
Neither of you even remember how this fight started. It’s been going on for hours now and no end seems to be near.
“This relationship is like sweet talking to despair” you tell him before breaking down and falling to the ground. He’s never seen you look this defeated before and he doesn’t have it in him to fight anymore. He knew this was coming. Gojo kept fighting the tears back, unable to speak, knowing his voice would give it all away…
So who would have thought that 3 years later after that night, he would find you in a small market. He would recognize you anywhere. You haven’t change since that last night he saw you.
When the both of you decided to end it that night, that was it. No more contact, no more seeing each other, it was the hardest goodbye either of you did.
Nighttime was your favorite, when missions were over you two always went to the park with snacks to just talk and check in. Who would have thought that it all end during such a time too. The stars didn’t shine the same anymore after that. You still found solace in the night, no matter how dark something seems, there’s always a light somewhere. Sometimes you have to find it or make it yourself. It took you months to smile and laugh again. Loving Gojo was something not easily forgotten, you knew there would always be a part of you lost to him. It’s a part that would always belong to him, he was your first everything. But being in love and lonely was not fair for either of you.
Gojo felt like the world lost its meaning, his heart was torn out of his chest. He felt like he lost his light in the bleak world. But he was strong he kept saying to himself, he’d get through it one way or another. His heart was yours; he’d always say it and it’s still true. Even though there are days harder than others he thinks he’s good…
But why is it that after 3 years seeing you again just standing there is making him want to cry. His heart is beating so hard against his ribcage he’s wondering if people can hear it. Seeing you made him feel like he was taking a deep breath of fresh air after being held under water. Gojo felt a sudden weight off of his shoulders and before he knew what he was doing he was calling out to you. Walking to get closer to you, he calls out again.
You heard his voice, but ignore it; your mind still likes to torture you at times conjuring memories of him. But when you feel a big hand on your shoulder you know, you could never mistake that warmth. The moment you turn around you both are at a loss for words.
Years have gone by and neither of you had seen each other, how is it that it’s happening now. Is the world playing a trick on you both to keep hurting yourselves? No-you think. It could happen anytime and anywhere.
“Satoru” - “Y/N” you both speak at the same time, after a few silent seconds Gojo speaks up first “that was lame”. Hearing you laugh breaking the awkward moment made him melt on the inside.
“How have you been Satoru?” you ask him while giving him a shy smile.
The way his name sounds coming out of your lips erupts a feeling inside of him he thought long dead. “As good as can be I guess, how about you? It’s been a while” he says while putting his hand at the back of his neck.
“It’s has been a bit now. I’m good, bit of changes I must admit” you keep smiling. It feels good seeing him, he will always have a special place in your heart.
“What are those changes?” he can’t help asking. Always the curious one. Though he must admit he want to keep talking with you, he wants to know how it’s all been with you. He did try contacting you a few weeks after the breakup but you had changed your number. “Wait wait let’s go to a bakery that’s near here.” Not waiting for you answer he starts walking.
You’re not surprised by his actions so you follow him. After ordering off the menu he repeats his earlier question. You’ve been fidgeting in your chair since you sat down. Gojo didn’t point it out thinking it was the nerves both of you were feeling at the moment.
Laughing at you, you groan at him to stop. “I will throw this coffee at you if you don’t stop Satoru”.
“Repeating my earlier question, what are those changes” he asks while leaning on his elbows at the table giving you his complete attention. The conversation went on between the two of you. Both getting caught up with everything new that has happened. It felt nice being able to talk like old times. The sun had started to set in the background, time was going by so fast.
“You know, we should do this again” Gojo says. Before you could give him an answer you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. Holding your pointer finger up he chuckles knowing that means ‘give me a minute’.
“I have to get going in a bit. I can’t believe the time it is already” you say pocketing your phone. Thinking how to give him the news.
“You didn’t answer me. And you look like you want to puke. Are okay?” he asks sounding concerned.
“You know, the night we broke up I thought I would never be able to feel anything again. No one knew me better than you, you broke me and put me back together. You knew every crack, then you became a stranger. I believe in soulmates. You know that.” your eyes are watering now and you are back to that night. “I think we’re soulmates, but it didn’t work out for us. It wasn’t meant to be. And I’m not gonna lie to you, I still struggle at times with that.”
Gojo extends his arms over the table to grab your hands. And now he sees it. The ring adorning your finger. “You’re married?” he says with a watery smile. You just shake your head up and down.
“Congratulations” he starts off clearing his throat. “You deserve to be happy. I’m glad you found someone new that gives you what I couldn’t. I would still burn the whole world down if it meant seeing you smile. I knew you deserved someone better, someone that gave you more time. But I was selfish. I wanted you all to myself…You’ll always…-clearing his throat again-They make you happy?” he asks squeezing your hands not being able to meet your eyes.
“They do Satoru, I promise you they do” your voice is wavering.
He doesn’t like the feeling growing in him. He’s never had to be jealous of anything in his life. It’s a foreign sensation. But there’s something else mixed inside him at the moment. It’s regret. Regret for letting you go that night, for not stopping you. How could the strongest sorcerer have his world be turned upside down once again by a bitter broken heart. He thought the night he lost you was his punishment for being born with everything at his finger tips. Maybe he did something bad in his past life for this one to be going this way. Born with an extraordinary gift and the cost is you, his happiness. A bitter ugly truth he has to face. Time should’ve killed every feeling he had towards you.
“Don’t cry. It’s okay” he says lowly while wiping your tears away with his thumbs. “People are gonna look at me funny if you keep crying” you laugh and gently smack his hand.
You see his shoulders get stiff for a moment, grabbing his hand you start rubbing small circles over his knuckles. He wants to tell you to stop, it’s torturing him how soothing your touch is. Craving it for so long and now having a taste of it again makes him want to scream.
“It’s getting late” he says pulling his hands away from yours. Missing your touch immediately. He has to do it or he’ll want more and he can’t.
“Yeah, I should get going. It was good seeing you. I’m happy we ran to each other.” your tone sounds melancholic.
“Take care Y/N” smiling at you he waves.
